I'm hoping for full-fledged comebacks for both Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down.

My musical hopes for 2009 is that T-Pain will stop warbling on everyone's songs (and Akon, too). I cannot stand T-Pain.......
Let's see...also, I hope for new albums from Breaking Benjamin and Tyler Hilton.

My musical hopes for this year is to finally get some of my music recorded. I just ordered some recording equipment and can't wait to get started. It will probably be a long process, but when I'm done, I will let you all hear it and give me some feedback.

I'm hoping for Soundgarden and Faith No More comebacks although I say that every year lol. There's been big buzz Sam about System of a Down comeback so you may get your wish. Serj's solo stuff just didn't do it for me......

In Nova Scotia, Canada, we rarely get any big names for concerts. In New Brunswick, 2 hours away, they have a huge outdoor concert every year that draw some biguns....last two years = The Rolling Stones and The Eagles. I'm hoping the venue will sign somebody like U2, Tom Petty, REM, The Cure...hopeful, but doubtful.

Usually in hard economic times and recesssions, the music is usually better than usual, it's like people dig a little deeper. It happened in late 70's-early 80's Thatcher-era England and in the early 90's in the USA with Nirvana and other so called Grunge groups. I'm hoping there will be some new stars and groups who emerge to set it straight. Maybe I'm hoping too much but would love to see a new instrument or a new musical genre come to the fore.
What kind of music are you doing 80's rocked? Sounds great you should be doing some recording.

Interesting question, Sammy. There are a few things on my 2009 Musical Wishlist, although most of them are unlikely:
A new U2 album and tour Christine McVie rejoins Fleetwood Mac A new No Doubt album hits shelves and sounds like rock music Poorly written and performed meaningless pop music stops infesting the airwaves of radio

Yeah, same awesome band.
Here´s latest info (December 12, 2008)
Bruno Ravel has sent an update on the recording of the brand new Danger Danger album: "Ted has completed 5 basic vocal tracks and will be returning in a few weeks to sing some more. We plan to finish all the recording in January and then we will finally start to mix!". Release is tentatively planned for April/May.

How about Love is All from Sweden? Saw them in December, really love them. Actually I saw the Hives as well in 2008.

Never heard Lykki Li or Love is All before.
Just listened one song/each. Interesting stuff but not quite my cup of tea. I listened lots of indie bands in the early 90s though...

The first few I will do are gonna be some acoustic tracks. It will probably be easier to start with those because I have never recorded with good equipment before and I gotta learn. I'm hoping it will be less mixing and editing because I won't need drums and probably little to no bass. Definitely NO singing ever by me!

My friend is gonna be stoked to hear the new Danger Danger cd! He is an 80's music fanatic. I swear he knows stuff about 80's bands that they probably didn't even know themselves, ha,ha. He knows everything about even really obscure 80's bands.
Hey atomik, there is a guy who is from Pittsburgh, he's probably in his mid to late 40's now, and he is in a band that is hugely popular in Europe, I think especially up your way in Finland, Sweden, Norway, etc. Do you know who it is? I cannot think of his name for the life of me! Or even maybe the band at least, then I could find out his name. When he is at home in Pittsburgh, he works as a paramedic/EMT.

Sorta heavy metal/ progressive sound. I do know that the dude can wail. Maybe I'll ask my friend, but it's probably going to be a while til I talk to him, he is so busy at work right now. I used to be kinda like him, but now that I am getting older, I'm more into movies than music for some reason.

OH, shoot, atomik, I didn't really answere your question. I think the band has been around a long time, I would say they go back to the mid to late 80's.

atomik, I can't believe that DC Cooper is so wildly famous across the Atlantic, yet he gets to come home and live a "normal" life here in Pittsburgh with his family. I thought it was pretty cool that he wants to continue to work as an EMT.
