A co worker and I just talked about Rush a couple days ago wondering if they were even still together. Are the originals still together? Are they touring in the US?

gotta go back:
The originals aren't with Rush anymore, as bassist Jeff Jones left after they first formed and now works with Tom Cochrane not to mention Burton Cummins, while drummer John Rutsey departed after their debut album owing to health concerns over diabetes, gave up playing and died in 2008 from a heart attack related to complications from diabetes.
And they still do tour the U.S. and they have a new album Clockwork Angels expected to be released next month with a tour to follow.

We're going to see Whitesnake in July. Not counting the pit, we are 5 rows back. I still don't understand how the pit and first 4 rows were sold out before 10 am. Do they give all of those seats to radio stations and friends?

Saw Joe Satriani on Monday night. Pretty good. He's still amazing. There was a meet and greet afterwards and he had a photo with whoever wanted one (basically everyone) and he signed whatever you threw in front of him.
He was really nice. A very warm person. I can't stand it when you meet like an idol and they are rude (so disappointing) but Satriani made you feel as if you were his younger brother.

I didn't bring anything cos I didn't know he was gonna do that but I had a brand new guitar cleaning cloth so I had him sign that. I think it's still pretty cool.

Satriani is one of the true greats--very underrated--and so many greats are jerks. It's always nice to hear that an idol is a good person. I felt that way when I met actress Cate Blanchett.
I'll bet Satriani was fantastic live.

Fantastic live! I dunno how he gets the sounds he does out of that guitar. Yeah, I met another guitar virtuoso not long ago. Won't say who it was but he was kind of stand offish. It really put me off but at the same time I guess he could have been nervy being around so many people where anything could happen (benefit of the doubt anyway). Satriani though welcomed people like they were family though. He was great. You would be disappointed if Blanchett was a b....It would have been the ultimate paradox.

I didn't hold high hopes for them sounding that good, but they were unbelievable. They gave it their all. Ozzy sounded fantastic too.

Still a couple of months to go, but on the 1st of july, The Who Hits 50 tour arrives at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
Back in 2007, when they played in Rotterdam's Ahoy, we all assumed it might very well be the last time they would play in Holland.. We assumed the same yet again when they played Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome in july 2013.. and here we are, it's 2015 and they're back once again !
