What a great year this has been for the old school headbangers. We got much awaited albums from some of the big heavyweights.
Motley Crue--The original lineup released "Saints of Los Angeles
AC/DC--After eight years they release "Black Ice"
Metallica--Finally got back to their roots with "Death Magnetic"
Guns N Roses--Finally released the much awaited "Chinese Democracy" after fifteen years.
Makes one excited to see what 2009 will bring
Also add on that currently there's a lot of newer metal/rock bands that are pretty darn good too. Now if only Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down would reunite.

Wouldn't mind a Soundgarden reunion too. I believe Motorhead had a new album this year as well. I also heard that Heaven and Hell are recording new material. Would love to hear some new decent Sabbath like they did in the late 70's and early 80's.

How does GNR sound with all of these new band members? Can Rose still sing?

Amen on the Soundgarden reunion Riptide. Maybe a Led Zep full fledged tour? I don't see how a tour without Robert Plant is gonna make it. According to this link there's gonna be a big reunion tour in 2009 maybe G N R?
