Dire Straits were like big bean-bag chairs - simply soft furnishings for the 80s. In much the same way that you had to have a lava lamp in the sixties and seventies, you had to have Brothers In Arms in your collection in the 80s. And as such, I did.
Can't STAND to listen to it these days, though - pretentions audible pap..... in my humble opinion, of course!
