I have a billion CDs thanks to the music clubs.
I remember in the 80's....when I first joined Columbia House....that's how I got all my albums.
I remember there was so much music then, that I could hardly stand to pick 6...then you buy 1, then you got like 3 more free. It was awesome.
When CDs came out then I switched over....but now....I could never join one of those clubs again, because there aren't any good CDs that I want any more, that I don't own.
Did anyone else belong to those?
I did movies with Columbia House too. I remember I was addicted to buying movies ...a long time ago....but it is rare now that I buy movies- unless they are really hard to find stuff.

Those clubs are a good way to increase ones collections. After your initial freebies you pay an arm and a leg for the shipping and handling but in the long run you save quite a bit of money.

I've been joining these clubs for years. My "first time" was cassettes....the only ones I remember getting are Billy Idol - Rebel Yell, and Billy Joel - An Innocent Man. I've purchased VHS, CD, DVD, but haven't joined in a while. I'm actually considering re-visiting...to get more 80's DVDs of course....they have lots that I need....Breakin' 2, Beat Street, Spacehunter, etc.....so I might go for it.

My first few years of cd purchasing was almost solely based on these record clubs. I remember it was really fun waitng for the mailman back then coming to the door with a package. These days I mostly get my stuff used, you save money I guess that way.

I know that back when I was a teenager it was rare to get any mail, so I was the same way about the mailman coming.
When I discovered Ebay...I went bananas...I ordered everything on Ebay including a full sized Return of the Jedi arcade game...they brought it in on a tractor trailor. I was getting 6-7 packages a day. I had a serious problem then....ha....I still order stuff from Ebay from time to time, but nothing like before.

I'm also an ebay/amazon addict. I always look at these two sites first for everything that I buy.
