We were watching the Heavy Metal Classics this afternoon, and my son had never seen the video or even heard the song...Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue-I actually like that song....I liked some of their older videos...but the new song they sing "Saints of Los Angeles (which I actually like too)...the video is just really dark, and weird, and that's the stuff that makes me mad...is why can't they make videos that are good any more...ones that are cool.
We watched the video for The Final Countdown- Europe....
My son said...look how much fun those guys are having...just playing the guitar and singing and all that...he said ...why do alot of them turn to drugs and alcohol when their lives are so much fun? How does anyone answer that question.

Saints of Los Angeles is a good video. Considering the amount of alcohol they abused, drugs they abused, and near overdoses naturally their videos now from life experiences aren't gonna feature Vince bopping around with some teenage girl strung around his neck. Not to mention the fact that Home Sweet Home is 23 years old (September 30 this month when it was released everyone make sure to blast the song at least once on that day lol). I think rock stars turn to drugs and alcohol because they believe they are invincible and lots of times to deal with stress. You'd think they would learn from seeing other bands and their friends go down that same dark road...........

I can hardly believe that song is that old. That is scary. They could show them playing live in concert...or still cruising around on their motorcycles...they aren't too old for that yet.

Let me tell you one thing about heavy metal/rock/glam/etc. "rock stars" or "rockers"....most of them are the nicest people you can ever meet in the world. I know....I was in and hung around that type of crowd my whole life. Don't let the image fool you. Sure some have their problems with drugs and stuff like that, but most are just normal, friendly people.

I actually had the opportunity to hang out with Vince Neil and his wife a couple years ago in Vegas. He's a real cool guy.
