My son found out today that AC/DC is coming to Cindymancini's area for a concert...and they want to go really badly...it's just a few days after my Halloween party. I am thinking about it.
I only really like a few of their songs...I like:
Dirty Deeds (of course), Money Talks, and Thunderstruck.
My son says they are "Rock Gods"....he has been watching their concert they did in Madrid, which was like their biggest concert ever....
What was the story behind the one guitar player who always wore the school uniform?

Yep that's him....my son knew his name-of course...I had forgot it....that's cool that his sister told him to pick a "gimmick" and he picked the uniform, even though he had hated school.
I forgot that I love the song "Back in Black"...and I also like "For those about to Rock".

If somebody were to start a Top 3 thread for AC/DC I'd have a very difficult time since they're my absolute favourite band of all time.

My favorites are "Thunderstruck" (best opening guitar riff ever!) and "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)" but I pretty much like their entire canon. I seriously can't think of a single song by them that I outright hate. They really need to hit Hawaii sometime soon.

Do it, ISIS! They are sooooo great in concert! If I were you I would download or borrow some of their stuff and prime yourself so you know the songs (but this is a band where you will be surprised how many of these songs you actually DO know - like someone else said- to name a Top 3 would be incredibly hard.
If you are interested in gettin' schooled I highly recommed BACK IN BLACK, HIGHWAY TO HELL and DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP. if you have no other way to get 'em send me a PM with an address I can mail them to and I'll make you copies!
They are playing near me in the Fall and I am so psyched!

I forgot about "You Shook Me All Night Long"...-I love that song.
The tickets don't go on sale until Sept. 20th.
I probably will go....seeing that my husband and son go to all the concerts I want to see...and I actually do like AC/DC....it's just that the crowd at one of their concerts might be a little more rough than others...cause they seem pretty heavy duty...

Are they gonna be in The City? If so, maybe I'll check them out as well. I was never a huge AC/DC fan, but if they are that good live, I may have to go.

December 18th in North Carolina! We got 5th row seats this morning as soon as tickets went on sale. This is a huge deal for our state. It's their only Carolinas appearance and it's been years since they've been to the Carolinas. I watched a documentary on AC/DC the other day and they said Angus Young walked/ran the equivalent of like 5 miles during one live show. If you've ever saw them before he's constantly moving and running............

That's what I figured...that's what we paid for Van Halen.
When I was at Monster Mania, the guy in front of me, who claimed to be Eddie Van Halen's number 1 fan...he had seen Van Halen in concert around 390 times....
I figured that out...if he paid $75 a ticket...that comes out to under $30,000. That is extreme.
We figured that AC/DC would be around the same as Van Halen.

They are not going to be in my area until the second leg of the tour, I've always wanted to see them. The good thing is that AC/DC has released a lot of videos and classic live performances on DVD the past few years which as been great. What is the state of Brian Johnson's voice these days?

I couldnt tell you what anyone else was wearing - my eyes were on Angus the whole time. If you look up "perpetual motion' in the dictionary there is a picture of Angus Young!
I think tickets run about $75-$80.
I assume they are playing MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, both times I saw them it was there.
I think you can only get the new album at WALMART? Anyone else here that rumor?

We looked in our Wal-Mart today for that CD, and couldn't find it. They had a whole display on AC/DC and the DVD of them in concert in Madrid was there, so we got it. The only CDs were their old stuff...and then beside it was the new Metallica CD- Death Magnetic.

Bon Scott their original lead singer died right before they started to record the Back in Black album. Brian Johnson took over vocals and is still there some 27 years later. The Young brothers on guitars are both original members. They've had a few changes on bass and drums with some guys returning to the lineup after being away for a few years. But haven't heard for sure who is in the current lineup.

We were trying to wait until tomorrow to see about getting tickets to the AC/DC concert, to see if my husband could get the time off work...on Ticketmaster- the $92.00 tickets all say that you can't get them on line any more.
I looked on another website...and the tickets were selling from $206.00 to over $2100 a ticket, and you had to buy 2 tickets on a lot of the cheaper rows.
That's insane. I guess we aren't going to see AC/DC. There are some things I can justify spending alot of money on, but not that.
I really was worried about taking my 15 year old son anyway...I think it might have been a little bit too much.
I know that they do the mosh pits at their concerts...and we have never been to any concert like that ever.
I would bet that there would be alot of drugs at a concert this size too, and we haven't been around anything like that ever either.
So...I guess that wasn't meant to be.

Aww thats a shame. My best friend got tickets (good seats too!)and when Ia sked him what my share of the bill was he said "Forget about it: It's one of your Christmas presents" (which helps explain why this guy is my best friend!)
He's actually going to see them two nights in a row. He offeered to bring me twice...but he had told me that he heard a rumor they'd be coming back again in the summer so I said I'd rather see them in the Fall and then see them again in the summer (I can buy his summer ticket as a birthday present for him). He's going with me one night and with another friend the other night.
i knwo he's spending a lot of money on these tickets but with him theres 3 times he can justify spending that kinda money:
1. AC-DC 2. IRON MAIDEN 3. THE SCORPIONS

I've saw AC/DC 3 times (furthest away seats we sat at were 8th row) and have never saw a mosh pit at their shows. Drugs will be at any concert so it can't be said that there would be a ton of drugs there. That's being pretty judgmental if you've never been to an AC/DC show......
