Besides the final fight scene between Daniel and Johnny in KK1, what are your favorite martial arts fight in a movie?
My all time favorite is Bruce Lee fighting Kareem Abdul Jabbar in Game of Death. Watching this little guy slowly beat down this bigger and stronger giant was amazing!

Combat wise, KK is nowhere close to the fight scenes in several Bruce Lee movies, and many other martial arts films. Other than Vidal, the fighting is subpar. But from a storytelling standpoint, this climax is as exciting as a fight scene gets. The writing and directing that make the final fight work, are what sets the final fight apart.

Jet Lei has some great fight scenes in pretty much all his movies. He's an excellent martial artist.

Channel 4 in the UK had a Bruce Lee weekend last yr.
They showed a documentary of the missing footage from Game of Death. I've never seen Game of Death properly, so I don't know which scene's were cut and which were included. Basically, when Bruce Lee gets into that temple at the end, he wanted to show as many styles of Martial Arts that he could. So he'd fight in different styles, use different weapons etc. The boss on the top floor (Kareem Abdul Jabar) was protected on the preceeding floors by body guards, right? There was one scene where Bruce had what I could best describe as a jockey whip, lol. Just like a long piece of bamboo that cut the air as he flaied it around - that was my favourtie scene - just the way he used his long reach over his opponenets (seemingly) deadlier weapon.
Im sure the missing scenes are available of DVD somewhere

If you haven't seen it - the Lee - Jabbar fight was great because, unlike most of Lee's fights, it is unclear until the last seconds who will win. Kareem was beating the crap out of Lee until he discovers his weakness, his eyes are sensitive to light. So Lee knocks off Kareem's sun glasses and then beats him down to a point where Kareem is exhausted and they suddenly become equally matched. In the last seconds it appears that Kareem is about to finally finish off Lee. He picks up Lee like you would carry your wife over the threshold and smashes his back down on a railing, but Lee gains a choke hold on him and ultimately breaks Kareems neck. The look of shock on Kareem's face during the final seconds when he realizes what is about to happen is amazing!

Umm I haven't got a favorite fight scene but my I do love the scene where Mr Miyagi defeats Sensei Kreese and Sensei Terry silver. I also like fight many scenes from other martial artists and actors like Bruce Lee, Jakie Chan, Jet Li, Steven Segal and Jean Claude Van damn all which are awsome in their own rights .
