Um, yeah. Not so much. silverchair got their name from two songs, Sliver (by Nirvana) and Chair (short for Berlin Chair), which they requested on a radio show. You'll notice I wrote Sliver and not Silver. At any rate, they wrote down the wrong song name, but ended up with a great band name.
