I am 23, but will be 24 later this year. Me and my cousin who is 2 years older then me grew up watching the Karate Kid films. We love them!!!
Just curious how old everyone else is. Do we have people here like me that grew up with them, or a lot of young kids that grew up with the KK movie series in the '90s, or present day?

Hey, I saw KK3 on tv this week, but they'd done a voice-over in French. Still nice to see it, though. I remember getting KK2 on video for either Christmas or my birthday in jr. high.
Oh, I turned 24 in May, btw. (Kind of funny to know Ralph is 4 yrs older than Billy, aka Johnny.)

Never saw a cartoon here in the States either. Well, you're in good company; I always thought little Daniel LaRusso & his mom were always so funny & cute!

I've got a copy of KK2 and there is a cartoon at the beginning of it. Daniel and Miagi shrink themselves down to help some kid out who is being bullied.

I must be the real old guy here @ 52, but I fascinated with the whole story. Recently, I taped KK1 to watch while I work out on my exercise bike. Then, I bought the actual videos of all 4 movies. I live on Long Island, not far from Ralph Macchio. I used to have a young lady working for me at the time KK1 came out. She told me her little brother looked a lot like Ralph. Recently, I spoke to her and reminded her of that conversation. She told me she found out her mother is actually Ralph's 4th cousin. So, now we know why he looks like Ralph.

Well, I can reply now without the fear of being the oldest. I'm 35 and grew up with all the 80's movies, fashion, music and dancing (yes, even breakdance) I'm mexican and have met 4 Hollywood stars in my whole life, and one of them, was in Acapulco almost 12 years ago, Was th KK himself, he was in the Las Brisas Hotel, the best hotel in those days, I ran in to him at the pool, my friends were all excited, we played hand sissors rock and I lost, so I had to go and ask him for his authograph, he gave it to me (actually he had to sign 6, one for each of my friends) and the only thing I could say after thank you, was, I do not know Karate, but you look as I could kick your a... very easy, well, I was jocking of course, he just walked away.

Yes I know, but I was 23 or something and my girlfriend always had a crush on him, I was only teasing him but I felt very bad. So sorry to all Mr. RM fans.

26 here. KK came out when I was 8, but I didn't see it till a year later on HBO, and me and my friends watched the hell out of it. I didn't even know there was a part 2 till it came on pay per view a couple years later. Part 3 I saw on cable in the summer of '90. Part 4 I could only watch a few minutes of before giving up on it.

I'm 25 and as with the rest of you it seems that a lot of the karate kid fascination is based on the fact that it was a defining film in our lives and when we watch it takes us back to more innocent and less complicated times..thats nostalgia for you..everything is rose-tinted after say 15 years...funny that.

26, I saw Karate Kid back in the day on home video. However I didn't really become obsessed by it until I saw a re-run of Karate Kid 3 on TV about 2 years ago.
