I know that we've already listed a number of bloopers and slip-ups from the movie, but I was looking at this other website and it listed another one. Supposedly in the semi-final match between Johnny and that other guy, Johnny has leg pads on. You can see them when he kicks the guy in the face and before he gets his third point. I didn't think that karate guys wore pads like that...I haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet but I will eventually.

Did you ever find out if this blooper was true or not? I've watched the movie lots of times and haven't really noticed.

The only kind of blooper I've seen in the films was during the final match, when Johnny does the flip-up move off the mat, his head band comes off, and the referee has to get in their and get it. An obvious unscripted moment, Pat Johnson, a real-life ref, was wise to not go "Uh, his thing fell off" to have the director go "Cuuuuutt! All you had to do was pick it up! Argh!!!"

I haven't had a chance to check it out yet...it's been awhile since I've watched KK...maybe i'll do that this weekend...I also remember seeing another small blooper during the tournament...I think it was during the song "You're the best", and they show Johnny fighting someone and his hair was really sweaty and they took the camera off him for a second and when they showed him again(during the same match) his hair was perfectly dry.

I'm not sure if this is a blooper, but there are no under 18 Karate tournaments in the United States that allow you to not wear pads. Period. I'm not sure if they changed that rule, but I'm pretty sure it was enforced back in 84. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected.
