I saw all 3 in one sitting at my local cinema. It was pretty cool at the time. Don't think I could do it again (unlike the all day Alien Trilogy I also sat through and the Star Trek 1-7 marathon I attended!!!!)

I remember going to the pictures and seeing a big cut out advertising 'The Next Karate Kid coming soon'. When I went back a couple weeks later it was gone and I never seen or heard of the film again until it came on TV

I saw part one in the theater two times. I also saw the second one in the theater. That was great. The first time I saw part one was when my friend's mom picked us up from our karate lesson and took us up to see it. We were 13 or 14 at the time. It was great.

I saw part one in the theatre, it was jam packed. I also remember ordering the movie pocket books in one of those scholastic order forms at school.

Valley - You've watched the original in HD? That's awesome, I'm jealous. What's it like?
I was never impressed with the quality of the DVD releases. Even the most recent one was very scratchy looking in places and the colours weren't as vibrant as I'd have liked.
Although picture quality never really concerns me at all when buying DVDs - I'd really love to get the best experience I can when watching my favourite movie all time!

Let me first say my hope is for "The Karate Kid" to get a blu-ray HD release because that would be the ultimate, but for now it is playing on HDNET and is quite the picture clarity. Next showing is Monday 7/28 at 2pm if you're interested.

Valley, I saw the original on HBO as kid and the other two at the theatre. The 1st one was playing a few years back at a theatre that plays old movies, they showed the Goonies too!

OK, I'm totally jealous! That is an incredible double feature Ali. I've heard of places doing that, but I've never seen it happen in my area.

it must be playing on HDNET all the time because i've been watching it non stop the past few weeks, usually at night before i go to bed. lately i always seem to catch it when they arrive at the tournament.
it looks great in HD.

I saw the first one in the theater with my karate class. I think that I probably saw Part II when it was out too, but I can't recall specifically.

Luckily I saw all 3 at the movies. I have been a kk fan since day 1. I must confess that I saw the next karate kid on video, but I kinda feel like that one just doesn't count as much. As much as I like to see Pat in all of the movies, #1 will always be my fav.
