I have heard the following from a friend whose best friend used to work for a shipping carrier in Seattle. Once they had the order to ship a full container with several bikes to Japan. When investigating he found out that the order came from a guy who used to live in California and just moved to Seattle. He used to have a BMX store first and later on bought movie bikes from the studios. As he had financial problems in the 90's he offered the bikes in an auction and a young Japanese multi millionair offered him 750.000 USD!!!! Among the famous bikes where such pieces as Daniel-San's bike, the original E.T. Bike, Mickey Walsh's bike from the Goonies and so on and so forth. The amount he knew because he had to prepare the paperwork and insurance for the transport. The bikes had little signs on them with further information and certification of authenticity. I can not guarantee 100% that it is true, but I know that lots of stuff is with Japanese collectors.

Thanks for the information. Whoever owns the Miyagi-Turbo bike of Daniel is pretty lucky. That is one awesome piece of movie memorabilia to have. However if you had the choice between Daniel's bike or his red gi from the karate kid part 2, which would you choose?

I would definitely go for the GI. I was really heavy into the philosophy of PART II. so the owning that Gi would be great!
