Director David Greenwalt had previously written for such 80's TV classics as "Wonder Years", "Shannon's Deal" and "Doogie Howser, M.D". On the large screen he scripted several movies including "American Dreamer", "Class" and "Rude Awakening". In the 90's he worked from the start with Joss Whedon on the TV mega-series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". For the first three seasons he wrote and directed numerous episodes and acted as co-executive producer. He subsequently became the Executive Producer and chief architect of the successful Buffy spin-off TV series, ANGEL.

Lori Loughlin and the rest of Full House Cast did an episode parodying "Secret Admirer" in which a love letter, created as a prank by the new bratty young neighbor was circulated through the household and created general havoc and confusion, resulting in a climax at the backyard picnic table in true Tanner Family style.

Lori Loughlin stared in her own tv-series "Summerland". In a couple of episodes she was reunited with her former "Secret Admirer"co star C. Thomas Howell who was a guest star on "Summerland".

Classic 80's teen movie actor Courtney Gains plays a guy named "Doug" in Secret Admirer. He doesn't have many lines, but he works at the fast-food place and can be seen most often with a toothpick hanging out of his mouth.

Midway through the film, there's a scene where Debbie's boyfriend Steve Powers is searching for her and Michael at a "make-out point" which appears to overlook Los Angeles. Steve starts opening up every car door looking to see if the two are making out inside. The first teenage couple he barges in on, the guy in the car is Doug Savant, who later went on to play social worker Matt Fielding in the hit drama "Melrose Place". He's only in the film for that brief scene and only has a couple of lines. He's listed in the closing credits simply as "Boy"...
