Upon buying tickets for the movie, filmgoers were presented with detective notesheets - similar those used in the actual boardgame - that were checklists naming all the suspects, weapons and rooms where the crime could have happened.

Colleen Camp (Yvette the maid) also starred in "Illegally Yours" along side Rob Lowe, she was his dream girl, her characters name was Molly Gilbert. She also has a role in "Police Academy 2" as Sgt. Kathleen Kirkland, which she reprised in "Police Academy 4: Citizens On Patrol" also. This time however she was married to Tackleberryso her name was Mrs. Kirkland-Tackleberry.

Several minor characters not in the board game show up in the film version. They inclue a door-to-door bible thumper played by Howard Hessman and a singing telegram girl played by Jane Wiedlin (of the 80's all-girl band, The Go-Go's.)

The movie 'Murder by Death' (1976) has somewhat the same idea as 'Clue'. Some famous characters (all well known detectives), played by a superb cast, come together in an old landhouse because they were invited for a dinner and a murder.

There have been several television shows based on the game (produced in countries such as USA, Australia, Germany, Swedenn and Fance ) where audience members guess whodunnit. The combination of comedy/mystery with talented performers and audience interaction was a successful idea. The shows have featured such established actors as Stephanie Beacham, Joanna Lumley, Derek Nimmo, Jane Paull, Pam Ferris, Lysette Anthony and Andrew Daddo

The cook is played by "Nurse" Kelleye from the tv show M*A*S*H. Lee Ving is the "bad guy" in "DUDES" starring Jon Cryer, Danial Roebuck and Flea. Tim Curry (Wadsworth) played ..the doctor in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Tim Curry who plays the butler in the movie "Clue", also played Pennywise the Clown in the movie adaptation of Stephen King's book "It". He also played Rooster (Miss Hannigan's brother (Carol Burnett)in the movie "Annie". And one other role he played was in the ever so popular movie "Rocky Horror Picture Show" as the mad tranvesite scientist Frankfurter.

Christopher Lloyd ( professor plum) also played Emmett L. Brown in all of the back to the future movies.

Also Mrs white is played by Madeline Kahn who played Lili Von Schtupp in blazzing saddles.

Mrs Peacock is played by Eileen Brennan who also played "the cat lady" in the horror film Jeepers Creepers and both Tim Curry ( Wadsworth) and Martin Mull (Colonel Mustard) acted in a couple of episode of Roseanne and the wild thornberrys.

There's often fake stuff floating round, y'know? -Like the 'ghost boy' that can allegedly be seen in "Three Men And A Baby".
