The group of pigs outside the castle continuously tried to mate. Buckets of cold water were used to seperate them!

Warwick Davis, who played Willow, met his wife (Samantha) on that movie. She was an extra, but they didn't meet again or get married until a few years later.
Thanks to Brad Jacobsen
Although Warwick Davis plays a young father in the movie, he was only seventeen years old at the time. This was also the first movie Warwick was not hiding behind a mask.

Made by George Lucas's film company, Lucasfilm, Willow was his 'fantasy' movie and could have been how Star Wars may have looked had he decided to go more 'fantasy' rather than 'sci-fi' with that as well.

The Devil Dogs were actually Rottweilers in rubber masks and suits.

Deleted Scenes

There are often scenes cut from the final version of a movie. Sometimes these will have been seen by preview audiences, or be included in Blu-ray or DVD extras etc.

The following missing scenes from Willow are believed legit. If you disagree or have additional info, please update us.

A deleted scene took place after Willow met Fin Raziel (as the muskrat) on the island. They left back on the boat, where a massive storm took place courtesy of Bavmorda's magic. Eventully, Willow is pulled under water and attacked by a fish/shark creature. A piece of the scene is shown in the "Making of Willow" documentary available on the DVD. Willow's hair is also noticibly wet when back on land.

Scratches inexplicably appear on Fin Raziel's face after the battle. (A deleted scene showed her face get scratched up in the battle with Bavmorda.)

Willow's hair is wet when he returns from the island (the result of a deleted scene where Willow was caught in a massive storm and went underwater).

Just after Willow's party meets Madmatigan in his cage, the Nelwyns rush back into the woods upon hearing screams from a distance.

Eventually, a group of barbarian people, called picts, arrive and attack Madmartigan with weapons and fire.

Not long after Willow and Elora leave Megosh they stumble upon a valley, with a battle in progress.

Kael's forces are battling the forces of Arik. Willow and Elora barely escape.

Before reaching the castle of Tir Asleen, Willow and Madmartigan reach an obstructive wall of thorns.

With the help of Fin Raziel, they cast a spell causing a fire to burn down the wall of thorns.

Alternate Versions

Sometimes, there will be several versions of a movie floating about on cable, tv or video etc. Other times, a Director may release a special cut of the movie on Blu-ray or DVD.

The following versions of Willow are apparently real. If you disagree or have additional info, please update us.

In the British version of the movie, the early scene where the death dogs attack Elora's nursemaid is cut.

This was the first film to use the 'Morphing' process developed by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). If you have the Willow (Special Edition DVD), there is an Easter Egg about it: 1. At the Main menu, go to the Special Features Icon and hit enter. 2. Using your down arrow, go to the bottom of the screen until you see Special Features highlighted again. 3. Push your right arrow key towards the word more. Once "more" is highlighted push your right arrow key one more time. 4. You will see a fairie appear next to Sorsha's head. 5. Hit "enter" on your remote to see what appears to be the original 8 minute documentary on the morphing techniques used in the film. It uses some of the footage in the "Morf to Morphing" featurette but there is more footage as well. Enjoy!

The UK version edits the second sword thrust into General Kael when Madmartigan steps on the sword and drives it through him. It only shows Madmartigan step on the sword, then cuts to Kael falling. A scene during the battle between Bavmorda and Fin Raziel was deleted which actually showed where the scratches on Fin's face came from.

During the fight at the castle towards the end, Willow zaps the troll with his wand, and 2 creatures emerge from its skin. In the UK version of this film, the bit where the creatures quickly rip the skin off of the troll is missing.
