The Toxic Avenger Filming Locations:

Gracelord Park, located on North Main Street, Boonton, NJ was used. [Thanks to Nelson]

Town Hall in Peekskill NY, where there is the main door and stairs on both sides of the door.

Peekskill NY, located near a real nuclear power plant was used for some of the the scenes, as well as the video rental place was a real video store in this area of peekskill NY. [Thanks to Tony]

The building where Melvin jumps out the window into the barrels of toxic waste is directly across the street from the Boonton US Post Office at 501 Main St, Boonton, NJ 07005, at the corner of Main St. and William St. [Thanks to Damen]

The Taco store scene is now a Popeye's Chicken on route 17 in Rutherford, behind Burger King and Exxon. There is an arcade next to it called the 'Great Escape'. In the taco scene you can see both the arcade as well as burger king if you look closely out the windows [Thanks to Dennis Karst]

Back in 1984 - 1985, I used to hang out where the restaurant scene was filmed. The name of the taco place off of Rt 17 was really called, "The Mexican Place." Regretfully, it went out of business many years ago and us locals do miss it. The name of the arcade was, "The Great Escape," which was one of the most popular hang-outs during that time. The arcade also went out of business many years ago and remained a vacant lot until recently. "Arby's" fast food restaurante is now sitting where "The Great Escape" once stood. [Thanks to DonnaT]
