This movie was filmed on New York's Lower East Side in Manhattan.
The apartment house where the Grandmother lived was, of course, on Delancey St, south of the Williamsburg Bridge between Ridge & Clinton St. [Thanks to Alex]
The Hot dog scene in which the woman comes in singing, "some enchanting evening" where Izzy goes on her birthday is Papaya King at 179 East 86th Street. (check logo on her drink cup) [Thanks to Patty]
