These scenes were actually shot at The Ennis-Brown House, located in Los Angeles, S. California. Google Map
Ridley Scott had also used the Ennis-Brown house in "Blade Runner".
There is a scene where Michael Douglas picks up or drops off his son on his motorcycle. His ex-wife is waving to him out a window and then Douglas drives off. This takes place in Douglaston (Queens) New York on the intersection Alameda Ave and Douglaston Parkway. [Thanks to Michael Mongelluzzo]
The entire movie (except for the NY scenes) was supposed to be shot on location in Japan but the filmmakers were allegedly forced to complete filming in California due to lack of cooperation by Japanese authorities. [Thanks to Ivan Munguia]
The building at 444 S. Flower St. Downtown LA was used for some scenes
The vineyards of Napa Valley, Northern CA were used for the climactic motorcycle chase sequence.
Osaka, Japan was used for the films setting and was used for some scenes.
Towards the end of the movie, where Michael Douglas is in a steel mill, this scene was filmed at California Steel Industries located in Fontana, California. Also at the end of the movie, when they are getting off the freeway in the truck, if you look closely before they get to the steel mill to melt Arnold, they run over a Fontana, California sign. They also filmed The Terminator 2 there. LX Preview
LX is our radical new locations feature that we've been beavering away on.. For years!
Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
