This is an interesting, (and somewhat underrated), black comedy movie with a good cast of characters.
Now it's been my viewing experience that the more big time stars and egos you cram into one movie, the worse their performances turn out. Not the case here, I think most of the A-List actors/actresses in this one had fun with their roles, as bizarre and over-acted as they were, and it's pretty easy to see that on screen. And it's understandable how they would since it IS such a dark and twisted comedy flick.
As I previously mentioned, this is a pretty strange movie from an average viewer stand-point..But, I'm not average...so I enjoyed it. I don't know how else to describe this movie other than if you put the movies NATURAL BORN KILLERS, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, & BACHELOR PARTY all in a blender and hit puree, then this is what you'd come up with. It's not a Blockbuster of a flick by any means, but I think it will still give you a few good morbid chuckles on a drab and boring rainy afternoon when you have a day off and the kids are at school. So yes, pretty strange, but all in all still a good flick to feed your more twisted sensibilities...

Hmmmmm... This is an interesting thread, which brings to mind the topic of "dueling movies," two movies released nearly simultaneously with similar plots (e.g., "Dangerous Liaisons" and "Valmont"; "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon"; "Volcano" and "Dante's Peak"). Just the year before was the release of the "other" stag party/dead stripper movie, "Stag" with Kevin Dillon, Andrew McCarthy, John Stockwell, Jerry Stiller, Ben Gazarra, and singer Taylor Dayne. I don't know. It's been a long, long time since I've seen these films, but I recall liking "Stag" better because it is more of a straight ahead thriller with blackly comic elements. "Very Bad Things," to me, was just way too much of everything, though as I recall, Christian Slater was pretty good. I probably need to see these two again to compare.

I checked the IMDb cast list, and there is no all-star cast. Someone just hacked the Wikipedia page.

I watched this at the cinema with my best mate, I almost had to sit on him to stop him from walking out! I loved it though, it was so over the top, and I really enjoyed seeing Cameron Diaz play such a massive bitch!

Didn't mean to scare you Helen...I just think it's cuz I've seen it a few times is all, I still do enjoy it. You just definitely have to have the right morbid mindset set when viewing this one. I still do recommend it if you've never seen.

Yeah it was great once it got going. I found it hilarious how Cameron Diaz's character turned out like the nuttiest of them all LOL

Good black comedy, kind of teeters over the edge into absurdity a little too often but great performances all round.
Am I the only one who kind of felt sorry for Cameron Diaz at the end?
