Does Cheerleader Camp 2 actually exist??
Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :
Veronica...as you already probably know .."Cheerleader Camp II" does not exist. The idea of it has turned into a cult urban legend of sorts to the point that IMDB gave it a page even listing Uma Thurman as a cast member. Also, you can find several people claiming that they have seen it, but nobody can produce even a single copy of it.
Here's the real story:
Rumors of a 1990 sequel to Cheerleader Camp have circulated for years, but no such film exists. The alleged sequel (entitled Cheerleader Camp II) does have an entry at IMDb despite the fact that it was never produced. A sequel was planned by producers of the original film, but the project was eventually scrapped and made into another, unrelated film (Camp Fear) that was produced and financed by another production team.
"Camp Fear" was released on DVD back in 2005 and is available for only $9.98 from Amazon.com. However, I must warn it isn't what you will be hoping to find, but for the cult curious it is probably worth the coin.

Thanks for clearing that up, Valley...I remember reading about a guy trying to find this movie but not having much luck, despite it having an entry on IMDB and a short review in a Leonard Maltin book.
Did not know about "Camp Fear" though.

There are about a million threads on the IMDB for things people claim to have seen but can produce no evidence for. People place far too much stock in their own (often faulty) memories. Unlike many of the people here, other people do not always maintain an unbroken attachment to the movies they watched in the past. So they watch a movie in '85, and then don't think about it for 20 years, and when they think of it again they're "Absolutely positive that...".
Check out the IMDB 'Can't Buy Me Love' board for one of the longest running debates on any board!

Interesting...I didn't know that. Anyway, I removed Cheerleader Camp II since it doesn't exist and added Camp Fear since it does.
