Even though Curly Sue is the only one Hughes directed in the 90's, I have to pick Home Alone, which he wrote.

Dutch (1991) even though all he did was write it. John Hughes' work in the 90s didn't appeal to me lots though Dutch was an exception. The original Home Alone was ok when I was a kid but the second one was blaeeeeeeeck. Too predictable, unoriginal, and IMO one of those movies with no need for sequels. Wouldn't protective services have been called after the second time lol...........

Gotta Love Curly Sue!!!!!
There are many moments in the movie -
The finger-licking scene,
the pizza stuffing scene,
the bathtub scene,
the maid playing cards with Curly Sue & Dad,
Curly Sue punches out the bad boyfriend and many more.
Curly Sue is all grown up in the special features section on the dvd.
Watch it if you haven't seen it & Buy it if you don't own it. C'ya!

Home Alone
It's a movie which can be watched over and over again regardless if it is christmas time or not.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987):
Gonna have to be this one for me because I think Steven Martin & John Candy worked off each other so perfectly in this film. And it's definetly one of the funniest Hughes films I've seen.

The former was released in 1989, so unfortunately it has to be considered out of the running for this topic.
