The 90's may not have produced the same amount of awesome Teen/youth flicks, that the 80's did. But being born in 1977, the 80's was my childhood, and the 90's my wild and unruly youth. So here are some of my favourites from the decade!!
EMPIRE RECORDS- A must see...
SUBURBIA- Richard Linklater's awesome slacker flick, about wasted youth in smalltown texas...
CLUELESS- It's no FAST TIMES..., but Heckerling still had the touch in my opinion...
DAZED AND CONFUSED- Set in the 70's, great last day of school flick, spawning many 90's stars...
CAN'T HARDLY WAIT- Nice party movie, reminiscent of the 80's...
KIDS- Pretty raw portrayal of a day in the life of some NYC youths.
VARSITY BLUES- cool late 90's high school football flick...
SHE'S ALL THAT- A little sappy, but it had it's moments...

There still are some great teen flicks from the 90s. I agree with American Pie, Clueless, She's All That. There is also 10 Things I Hate About You.
One that I have only seen bits and pieces of, sadly, is Empire Records. I also haven't seen Varsity Blues, Suburbia, and Kids. These are ones I need to sit down and watch some day because I know that they are going to be the classics of the 90s just like the ones from the 80s that have become classics.

Amy Heckerling's Clueless.......is a great one!
I have such a soft spot for 10 things being that it was filmed in my neighborhood I even had Andrew Keegan come into my work at the time and I wouldn't give him the benefit of me knowing who he was........cause he was kind of ****y.

Another one I like is DISTURBING BEHAVIOUR....! Im not oblivious to the fact that it is a pretty bad movie! But I just like it for some reason.

Anyone seen the movie BANDWAGON?? About a loser rockband trying to make it. I remember it as being pretty funny.

Oh, and SCHOOL TIES was pretty good as well.
Brendan Fraser plays a jew, who goes to some preppy school, and has to hide the fact that he's jewish.
Affleck, Damon, Anthony Rapp etc. Decent film actually.

Yup, Jaylee, that's the one. Loads of good peripheral characters, all tied together by the one central thread. It's simply because Peter lives outside during the summer that he sees all this going on around him:
* the strange old lady that eats in her car, mows her lawn in scuba gear at night and sits on her roof making phone calls; * the guy whose sick wife mysteriously disappears just before he starts carting sacks of garbage out to his car in the middle of the night; * the endless bullying by the big kid down the street; * the obsession with 'nun-dolls' by the little sister whose parents are obsessivvely religious; * the desperate flirting of the middle-aged spinster next door, for whom Peter becomes a focus for attention; * the efforts of his best friend to become totally sexually self-sufficient; * the problems between his parents; * the behavious of his grandfather; * the obnoxious boyfriend
All of this is going on around the simple act of standing there under the girl's window until she is forced to start noticing him.
It's a great little movie!

hmmm, I think the writers of DISTURBIA looked at that movie, decided to axe the love story, and threw in the plot of REAR WINDOW instead... and WHAMMO!!!! they had a new movie...

Nope - although I can't recall if it was straight to dvd.
You can get it from Amazon HERE or there may be other sites in the US that could get it to you cheaper.....
If you get it and watch it, let me know what you think! I bought Nick a copy a year or so back, and he loved it!

Dug out my old vhs version of TROJAN WAR with Will Friedle and Jennifer Love Hewitt, and realized that it was just a bad knock off, of SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL and SECRET ADMIRER! It had it's moments, but really more of a straight rip off!

Clerks, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Goodwill Hunting, Glory Daze (a distubing Ben Affleck bias to be sure, but great films nonetheless...maybe Glory Daze could've been a little better, but still a good movie).
Speaking of Kerri Russell, Muffy have you seen a movie called 'The Curve', also stars Matthew Lillard and Michael Vartan?
