SYNOPSIS: It's been two years since the events of the first movie took place, and Terry (now age 15) returns to Glen's old house (now condemned) where he, Glen and Alexandra accidentally opened the Gate between Earth and a hellish, demon-filled dimension. This time Terry is inadvertently joined by three street-smart teenagers: the bullying and reckless John, his sultry and kind-hearted girlfriend Liz and their wise-cracking skinhead pal, Moe. In an eerie ritualistic ceremony, the four teenagers summon up a devilish minion, a servant of the Demon Lord, in order to grant themselves their deepest desires. But, the group soon discovers there is a hefty price to be paid as an evil band of high-level demons known only as The Unholy Trinity sours the wish-granting deal and unleashes their powers against the teens...and no one can prevent the horrifying events which follow.

PP's REVIEW: Sadly, despite some decent creature effects ranging from an actor in a demon costume to old school stop-motion animation, Gate II offers very little to the viewer with it's sub-standard storyline and dull characters. One never really feels that the four teens are in that great a danger...and the low budget seems to have had a greater affect on the production this time around. A surprisingly disappointing sequel (considering that the 1987 original was so well done) that is recommended for the unwavering, die-hard Gate fan only. Gate II was filmed in 1989 but sat on the shelf for three years until the resolution of distribution problems earned it a limited (yet ultimately unsuccessful) theatrical release in 1992.
