This holiday flick went way under the radar, maybe too much so. While it's only average, it does have it's moments. Steve Martin (with a bizarre hair choice) does reasonably enough as a help hotline operator trying to keep his calm on Christmas Eve while surrounded by an all-star collection of quirky people and outright lunatics (including Madeline Kahn, Rita Wilson, Anthony LaPaglia, Juliette Lewis, Adam Sandler, Liev Schriever (in an amusing bit as a transvestite), Gary Schandling, and Rob Reiner among others).

I have seen it and thought it was pretty good. Mixed Nuts has many sides to it, both drama, tragedy and some jokes, but mixed very well, with no signs of pretension. At times it was touchy and you can easily sympathize with all the characters. And Martin proves that he is more than a comedian.
