Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington both outdid themselves in this 1993 movie about AIDS discrimination. My fave movie of 1993 considering there wasn't that much in the way of movies that year to pick from...

Great acting from Washington and Hanks, not a movie I watch very often; as its’ rather downbeat, and the realistic performances only add to the sombre, solemn tone. Tom Hanks deserved his award (even though the Oscar has since become a meaningless trinket, a truly pointless exercise in corporate back-slapping). Sprigsteen's 'Streets Of Philladelphia' was also a good track, and works well with this film.
