This is another one of the few 90's movies that I really thought was totally cool, and never understood why they never made a sequel to it. I thought the Toys that they made for it were way cool. It is sad to see Phil Hartman in it, and know what became of him. But, I really think it is a cute movie.
I can't believe they didn't do a sequel to it, and I just saw a preview for a sequel to "Cheaper by the Dozen"...did anyone like the first one, cause it looked stupid just from the previews. It seems like that movie just came out...and already they squeezed out another sequel.

Small Soldiers was great, and Kirsten Dunst was as beautiful as always in it.

Small Soldiers was a great movie. Who didn't think their army men were real as a kid. Neat concept.

Great flick. Hey Valley, did you ever see that episode of Darkroom where the kid's toy soldiers were alive and was protecting him from his abusive uncle? The tiny helicopters and tanks cornered him in a barn and shot him and started a fire and burned him in the barn. I remember that the kid had a few soldiers he would play with outside in the dirt and the next day the uncle noticed there was twice as many and asked the kid where they came from and the kid said it was another company that arrived last night to join up with the others. The next day there were even more. The uncle started beating the kid for lying to him. That's when the soldiers started attacking him.

Well, at least those soldiers were good.

I have never seen this one! I think that this would be one that my son would love to watch. If I am remembering right also then I think that it was one of the last if not the last movie that Phil Hartman was in?

I believe it was.

Bionic, I briefly recall that episode of Darkroom....something about a Vietnam veteran giving a boy an army of toy soldiers, only to have them come to life and attack him. Darkroom was great show with people like Helen Hunt and Billy Crystal as guest stars.

according to director Joe Dante, SMALL SOLDIERS is the closest thing to GREMLINS 3 that we'll ever see.
