I had never heard about this movie before, but it was so cheap that I had to buy it as it has John Cusack and James Spader in it - two 80s movie icons, so I figured you can't go wrong!
Anyway, I thought this was an excellent movie, great acting, good story. It's about true friendship, deceit, and hunger for power.
Has anyone seen this?

DeathByStereo I remember this movie very well. It was a role reversal type movie for me. Up to that point, (I missed Grifters) I had only seen John Cusack in the good guy role and James Spade was always brillant as the bad guy. So watching this movie was strange because I kept invisioning them in each other's roles. I guess politics can even corrupt Lloyd Dobler ya know.

Just watched True Colors (1991)
I agree with the guys above, this was a very good movie. Nicely directed by Herbert Ross (Footloose, The Secret of My Success etc.) The acting is superb and i like the score by Trevor Jones very much.

I remember this was one of 3 movies that Paramount tested erasable videos with. They put a device inside the VHS cassette that was supposed to erase the movie after it was watched a certain number of times. I remember taking apart the screener tape to remove the part that would erase the tape but I don't think they ever actually released them to the public.
