Is it just me, or is Nappy Dynomite so popular because he perfectly represents 16-year-olds from the early nineties? I mean the plastic, homemade lanyards, the whole "flippin'" and "gosh!" over-usage. It was so believable, it was like "A day in the life of a teenage nerd." I was listening to the commentary, and every five seconds, the guy who wrote it would go, "oh this is something my brothers and I used to do," just as I was beginning to think "where did he think of this, I know people who did this, I am someone who did this!"

Wait until Muffster sees this topic, she loves this movie. So are you picking up the DVD for after Christmas?
Valley is very right.....I love this movie! My whole gang of friends and I have a Napoleon following......I've made many a people watch the clips from the movie on that site.....they're so fun to watch over and over. What i've come to learn though....is people really either hate it strongly....or have a strong affection for it!
It just came to DVD last week.....I haven't bought it as of yet. But plan on it! so are there other great extras I should know about?
"I see you're drinking 1% milk. Is that because you think you're fat? Because you're not. You could probably be drinking whole milk."
What are you drawing? A liger. What's a liger? It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

haven't seen it yet but I'm going to be buying it sight unseen. Looks like it would be right up my alley.

Oh Gosh, I hope so. My sister had me watch it, but we had to take it back (we had rented it) before I got to see all the "Flippin' Features," I only got to see a little bit of the commentary. I love how when they talk about drawings, it's all about the shading. "It's prob'ly the best shading I've ever done."

I just watched the commentary...Doomy! It was hillarouis! I loved the part about how Napoleon's moon boots belonged to someones Uncle and how as a child they all wore theirs way into the spring...The whole commentary felt like reading one of our flashbacks here on the Rewind. I was cracking up once again at the masterpiece that is Napoleon Dynamite but with excellent commentary!!!!
"Pedro offers you his protection."
and serouisly how funny was La Fawnduh and Kip at the picnic table.......I can't help but laugh so loud at them.....soooooo cute! Her smile his winking......haaaaa!

Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

UNCLE RICO Napoleon, you know we can't afford the fun pack. What, do you think money grows on trees in this family? Take it back! And get some Pampers for you and your brother while you're at it.

I know I mentioned this in a post over on the 80's board but if you guys liked Napoleon, see the movie Wellcome to the Dollhouse. It came out in the mid 90's. I had never seen anything like it in my life. It's the EXACT kind of humour Napoleon has. You'll love it. It's beyond hilarious .

"Welcome to the Dollhouse" is disturbingly watchable on many levels...the Weiner[dog] family is like a springer show.
Another good recent 'teen angst' movie is "Ghostworld."

I finally watched "Napoleon" last night while others were watching the Super Bowl...loved it.
My kids say their friends are repeating lines all the time at school...my brother stopped by over the weekend and mentioned how his family had enjoyed it together...now his 12-year-old son is quoting Napoleon all the time.
I loved that Diedrich Bader played Rex..."Office Space" rules.
Sweet.

hey hisptermom, i loved GHOSTWORLD. i love scarlett johansson, she's a good young actress, not to mention gorgeous.
i remember watching welcome to the dollhouse during the time it was released on video, but can't seem to remember much of it. i think it airs on cable from time to time, so i will be on the look out for it.

I agree with cindymancini ... Welcome to the Dollhouse is a good one...i almost thought they were written by the same people
