ok, who's seen this one? i remember when i worked at the vid store, i always passed by the coverbox and wondered what the movie was about cause reading about it, it seems like a strange one. i have never even seen it anywhere on cable. anyone who has seen it, have an opinion?

gummo is definitely interesting! its directed by harmony korine who bought you "julien-donkey boy",and also wrote "ken park" and the notorious "kids". if you like films with a straight forward plot and a lot of character developement then i doubt you'll like it!
it really doesnt conform to any kind of film making ive seen before!its more of a documentary than a film, well it feels that way anyway!even though i knew it was a film,i often questioned what was real and what was not! some people hate it, some people love it! i think you have to really go deep into the film and the characters to understand what the film is about! i could tell you the storey but i couldnt tell you what its actually about if you know what i mean! there are a lot of scenes with real life people, because of this, you never really know whos acting and whos real! again its hard to grasp but it really is good!
you just have to watch it really! the soundtrack is pretty unsual as well, a lot of death metal and old time bluegrass!
its a very realistic film, it shows a side of life that films always leave out! life isnt liek it is in hollywood, its far from it! and this film goes about as far away as you could get!

It is one of the strangest movies I have ever seen. Some great stuff in it.
Including this quote by an albino girl standing by a pimped out little car:
"Patrick Swayze, I wouuuld pay money to touch him."
In other words, a recipe for classic cinema.

Disgusting movie! that bathtub scene alone makes me want to hurl. Not a fan of Harmony Korine.

I hate Harmony Korine's stuff--pretentious, insufferable claptrap.
