The title says it all. I've been trying to find a list of all the 80's movies that had novelisations written, and I've since expanded to include the 70's - just because. Since it looks like such a list doesn't exist, we should try and make it here!
Just to clarify, the list should be books that would never have existed without the film itself. You can give honourable mention to books that have been forgotten because of the films' success (ie: 'First Blood'), and you can stray into other decades if you like, but let's try and keep it focused on the 70's (for 80's novels see the 80's list here: 80's Movie Novelisations - The Big List!)
This is really only a tiny 'starter' list that I'm sure will be the tip of a massive iceberg:
Alien Black Hole, The Diamonds Are Forever Goodbye Girl, The Grease Halloween High Plains Drifter Jaws II Jerk, The Legacy, The Live and Let Die Man With the Golden Gun Moonraker Phantom of the Paradise Saturday Night Fever Spy Who Loved Me, The Star Trek Wanderers, The Young Frankenstein
Honourable mentions to books from which movies were made (some have been eclipsed by the movie):
Salem’s Lot Candleshoe Excorcist, The Freaky Friday Godfather, The Jaws Star Wars Time After Time Warriors, The
Movies that had comic-book adaptations:
Battlestar Galactica Black Hole, The Close Encounters Jaws 2 Logan's Run Octopussy Planet of the Apes Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Star Wars
