MY aunt took me to this movie when I was a kid... Not a child's movie but here's how it goes:
A couple gets in a very bad car accident, ends up in the hospital. The woman gets her name changed and plastic surgery (totally changes her looks) They part ways to live their own lives but then somehow come back together.
What movie is this?

It sounds most like 1979's The Promise with Kathleen Quinlan and 7th Heaven's Stephen Collins.
