I realize this is not 70's, but I watched "North By Northwest" yesterday and wanted to give it some recognition. It is one of the best movies ever made in my opinion. The plight of an ordinary man caught up in a dangerous adventure with a beautiful women. Alfred Hitchc.ock was a brilliant director and "North By Northwest" is my favorite of his many excellent films to choose from.
Summary:
A Madison Avenue advertising executive Roger Thornhill is mistaken for a government agent by a gang of spies. He gets involved in a series of misadventures and is pursued across the States by both the spies and the government whilst being helped by the beautiful Eve Kendall. Ultimately leading to an encounter with a deadly crop-dusting plane (awesome movie moment), a spectacle at a public auction, and a final showdown at Mount Rushmore (memorable scenery).

I'm a Hitch**** fan and this is one of my favorites along with Rear Window. By the way... the girl from North By Northwest plays in the new Superman movie as Clark Kent's mom.

Yeah, "North by Northwest" was a great movie, one of Alfred Hitch****'s best IMO. It's been awhile since I've seen this film, but I haven't forgotten the Mt. Rushmore's scenes.
Wonder if there's ever going to be a remake, probably won't be as good without Cary Grant.

I'm a huge Alfred fan as well. North by Northwest was great, but my all time fave would have to be "Vertigo."

That's one of my husband's favorite movies. Last summer we went to South Dakota and stayed in a little town called Keystone. There was a sign by the road saying that the movie was filmed in the area.
