just wondering what movie everyone feels has the best soundtrack of 1970's music between
1. Over the Edge 2. Dazed and Confused 3. Detroit Rock City
Realize only one of these movies is actually from the 70's but all 3 have awesome soundtracks.
My choice would have to be Dazed and Confused followed closely by Detroit Rock City.

1) Over the Edge -the best soundtrack of any movie made in, about, or that features music from the 70's. It's perfect. One of my top three favorite films of all time.
Even though this is a concert movie, it was released as a soundtrack album, and being a big Bowie fan...
2) Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
The Ramones! The Ramones! and more of The Ramones!...
3) Rock and Roll High School
One of the few really good "retro" movies...
4) Dazed and Confused -does a great job at capturing the spirit.
A somewhat lame movie, but a very good soundtrack...
5) Detroit Rock City...great music, and afterall, it does have "Rebel Rebel" in it.
and finally, honorable mention (though not on my list) for capturing an era, a movement, a scene, a moment in time...no matter how you feel about it (I love my rock and roll) you can't deny this little timecapsule when talking about 70's soundtrack music...

Dazed and Confused, definitely. One of my favorite movies...it was set in such a great time, 70's music rocks. I love it.
