Just saw "The Star Chamber" for the very first time ever - on Blu-ray. Anyone else remember this? It's an excellent early '80's crime drama/thriller, starring Michael Douglas as a judge in CA who gets frustrated with having to let violent criminals go free because of technicalities. As a result, he ends up joining a secret cabal of judges who end up taking matters into their own hands. Very well-done film. Also co-starring Hal Holbrook & Yaphet Kotto.
As with a lot of early '80's police/crime dramas, this film definitely has more of a late '70's "feel/vibe" - i.e., it reminds me more of a '70's film than an '80's one...

I have the dvd and it´s a pretty good thriller. Agree about the 70s feel. Early 80s Douglas shines with a really solid backup cast.

Great thriller guys and I have been looking at grabbing this off my shelf for a rewatch sometime soon!
I didn't dislike the 1988 thriller The Presidio which he directed with Sean Connery and Mark Harmon though if I remember right it wasn't very well received by the critics and I also loved the buddy cop movie Running Scared with Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal.

Great box cover! If you get the chance, check out the Blu-ray of "The Star Chamber" - beautiful print, though it doesn't have any extras.
