How would you rate this one? It's corny to the point of ridiculousness, especially sin e English doesn't appear to have been the lead's primary language, but yet you still have to like it deep down. The concept--cop given superpowers--is at least unique and reasonably well plotted out.

It was released here on video as Super Snooper, and yeah.. i like it, even though it can be a bit childish.

It's one of many Bud Spencer / Terence Hill (either together or solo) Italian action comedies shot in the US.
It's good to see Ernest Borgnine, but the movie could just as easily have been another Spencer / Hill match up.
Many of their movies from the 70s and early 80s were directed by one of the Corbucci brothers or E.B. Clucher.
As a kid i used to prefer the ones from Sergio Corbucci (who is well known for directing some of the best
spaghetti westerns in the 60s, including the original Django as well as The Great Silence).
His movies always had more elaborate action scenes than the ones directed by his brother Bruno.

Both of the Corbucci brothers have passed away. Sergio died in 1990 at age 63, and Bruno in 1996 at age 64.

Dutch dvd cover for Super Fuzz a.k.a. Super Snooper

I know it's also been released on blu-ray in Germany, but i believe it has
forced German subtitles when English (or Italian) audio is selected.

I genuinely like this as it ties to my love of all things Bud Spencer / Terence Hill. This is one of their solo spinoff movies. It is very silly, but fun. This was Hill's effort around the same time as Spencer did 'Sheriff and the Satellite Kid'. If I had to choose I'd say the Spencer one was better - it even merited a sequel. (Joe Bugner terrorising some people in a store wearing a monster mask is gold.)

E.B. Clucher was a pseudonym for an Italian director whose name escapes me.
