Not a very good australian teen horror flick this one. They try the american formula but it doesn´t work very well. Mediocre stuff.

Ghostbusters II - I've always slightly preferred this to the original. This sent my demented imagination into overdrive as a kid. I think the main reason I liked it a bit more was whilst it was very comedic like the first film it also had what was a really creepy good disturbing storyline to it. And it came at just the right time for me as I'd been reading short horror stories of possessed old paintings. Although it doesn't unnerve me as it did when I was a child I still just have such a ball with this.

Dead Time Stories (1986) - This is one seriously messed up film. Geez lol 6/10
Hotel Transylvania - This was cute and very funny at times. Towards the middle I was thinking maybe this would of been better as a short feature but then it got going again and all was well. 7/10
Goodnight Mr. Foot - Just a nice little short that was on the Transylvania disc. 6/10
The Shrine (2010) - Good but didn't enjoy it quite so much as the first time around. You have to just give in to the lunacy of the last half an hour. Has one of the creepiest statues ever. 7/10

Cabin in the Woods was very good and J2ME, i suggest that you check out Ghoulies III: Ghoulies go to College. Highly entertaining sequel and easily the best Ghoulies film.

When a nobleman is threatened by a family curse on his newly inherited estate, detective Sherlock Holmes is hired to investigate - from imdb.
Watched the excellent 1959 hammer films production - the hound of the baskervilles,had never actually watched this before and really enjoyed it.
Was slightly thrown by the fact that peter cushing's Holmes dissapears for most of the first 30 - 40 minutes but when you've got the likes of the great Christopher Lee to fill the void it's not so much of an issue!
John le mesurier who was a regular in the classic British sitcom - dad's army also shows up as a butler and Andre morell was really great as doctor Watson.
Watched this on blu ray (arrow films) and even though I've got nothing to judge it by as i've not seen before I feel the blu ray transfer for it is first rate,looks and sounds really good especially for something that first screened in 1959.
Definitely gets a high recommendation from me,i have not actually seen many hammer film productions before, I think I owe it to myself to check a few of them out!
I'd score it an 8,maybe an 8.5/10.

A police officer and a psychologist investigate the deaths of five people who were killed while trying to summon ghosts - from imdb.
Enjoyable haunted house horror which features a couple of very effective jump scares and has a really great look to it, well directed by will cannon and with good performances from the - the purge anarchy's frank grillo and maria bello who I remember well from the -assault on precinct 13 remake.
This was actually not bad at all I felt,not a classic by any means but definitely watchable enough.
Very short though with it clocking in at only 1hr 19 minutes,I'd give it a 7/10.

In response to some queries here, my two cents:
YW, I'm glad that you liked Hound of the Baskervilles. I knew that you would. It's wonderfully produced, directed, and acted, a real winner which combines your usual Hammer nastiness along with Conan Doyle. The Quatermass Films are all highly recommended, with Quatermass and the Pit a/k/a Five Million Years to Earth(1968) being not only one of the best Hammer Films but one of the best science-fiction films ever. There are very few Hammer Films that are out-and-out dogs. (OK, Helen, keep it down. You know that I'm poised to jump on Blood from the Mummy's Tomb, and I don't want any unpleasantness around here. ROFL) Even second-rate Hammer was better than just about everything else during that period.
TNtPGGB, there is an excellent thread that I think is still available here where some of us weighed in on the late Wes Craven's original Last House on the Left (1972). It is an extremely devisive film, not for everyone. It is still powerful, shocking, and depressing, a film that I only revisit about once every decade. I personally find it to be one of the most important horror films ever made, a film that ushered in--along with stuff like Night of the Living Dead and The Exorcist--the era of harder-edged, more explicit horror fare. It's one of those films that people will be talking about for as long as people talk about films: many intellectually and philosophically potent ideas in this raw and primitive-looking little drive-in film. Wes Craven really was a genius. His influence on the current state of horror cinema is great.
The original The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976), while not a perfect film by any means, is a very entertaining slice of regional filmmaking from the Deep South, USA by writer/director Charles B. Pierce. Pierce did a bunch of films for AIP, some like Town in a unique documentary style with narrator and title cards stating dates and times since the film was based on a true story. And he does work up a couple of really creepy scenes--and one classic "murder by trombone"--with his scary pillow-case-wearing psycho phantom. It's a lot of fun today as it was when I saw it 40 years ago at the drive-in. Last year's "reiminaging" of Town by some of The American Horror Story gang starts out with an outstanding "meta" conceit: The town where the murders occurred shows the original film every year at the drive-in. Now a copycat (or perhaps the original killer?) is back, and those trying to solve the murders even meet up with a character playing Pierce's son, if you can follow that. For about two-thirds of the way, it flirts with being a wholly original gem, and then, tragically, it just all falls apart. (I understand that there was a lot of post-production tinkering without the director's consent.) It's worth a look, though the original stands higher.

Last night I watched -
The 2006 big foot movie - abominable starring matt mcCoy who I remember from Sean s Cunningham's under water horror - deep star six and featuring a whole bunch of cameo's including lance henriksen,dee Wallace stone,Paul gleason and jeffery combs.
Plot summary - It has been sighted 42,000 times in 68 countries. A creature of myth and legend known by several names; Yeti, Sasquatch and the infamous Bigfoot! We've hunted it for years, but what happens when it decides to hunt us? "Abominable" centers on a man recovering from a mountain climbing accident, trapped in a remote cabin in the woods, who sees the legendary beast, and must convince someone to believe him, before the monster goes on a bloody rampage- from imdb.
I quite enjoyed This one (i have watched it before but it was sometime back) and thought for something I believe was originally put together for the sci-fi channel who's majority of productions are pretty average at best that this was a vast improvement over anything that they have done before!
The yeti (abominable) remains hidden for the best part of the film but when it does finally show its face I thought all things considered (budget,etc.) That It actually looked fairly decent and also there were a couple of really cool and gory yeti kills with the most effective being when some poor guy gets his head bit in two.
Add a smattering of nudity (the yeti's a bit of a peeping tom here and likes to spy on the ladies in the shower's) and you have quite a fun little monster flick!

Those are very good I even really enjoy Lust which tends to get ragged on quite a bit.

Helen and I have seen just about every Hammer Film so I think you can trust our opinions. I agree with her assessment on the so-called "Karnstein triology." "The Vampire Lovers" is a masterpiece, just excellent, and one of the earliest mainstream erotic vampire films. The first sequel, "Lust for a Vampire," always gets a bad rap--it has a dreadful pop song on the soundtrack that everyone hates--but it is actually good. For years, I thought "Twins of Evil" was overrated, but last year I saw a beautifully remastered UK version of it on a big drive-in screen, and I must say, I know why people like it. It's got lots of great stuff--Peter Cushing as a witch hunter, vampires, beautiful girls, nudity, violence, fast pace... It's growing on me big time.
If you are looking at late-period 70s Hammer, I also highly recommend "Hands of the Ripper," "Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter," and the wonderful "Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde." They are all so well made, colorful, and entertaining.

Watched Ritual (2002) which is a third film spin-off from the HBO television series Tales from the Crypt. It´s based on the film I Walked with a Zombie (1943). I liked this one, it´s not a perfect movie by any means but i love the Jamaica locations and atmosphere. The cast rocks: Jennifer Grey, Graig Sheffer, Daniel Lapaine, Kristen Wilson and Tim Curry did a very good job. Grey looks stunning and i think that she´s much prettier after her nose job. Jamaican voodoo, sweaty bodies, few nasty kills, cool soundtrack plus nightmares and delusions. Entertaining stuff!

Watched Mario Bava film The Girl Who Knew too Much (1963). Few very good set pieces in this one but otherwise it´s a bit uneven film. I believe that they were making comedy first but Bava liked the mystery part more. The Girl Who Knew too Much is considered to be the first giallo film and it´s Bava´s last film shot in black and white and you gotta love the cinematography in this one. Very Hitchcock in places (even the name) and i like the lead actress Leticia Roman and John Saxon gives a solid performance. The film was called Evil Eye in the US. I watched the original italian cut but i´m going to check out the US version too because it seems quite different.

I agree with Helen. I think that The Girl Who Knew Too Much is one of Bava's best. I don't know if Hitchcock ever saw it, but if he did, I'm sure that he'd have liked it. It's totally his style. It's pretty much a trendsetter too, if you think about it: a proto-giallo film. The next year, Bava directed a true giallo, Blood and Black Lace...in color!

Dolly Dearest (1991) was a pretty lame Child´s Play rip-off. It has some potential but the plot, lousy acting and dialog plus lame kills make it impossible to enjoy this one. You can find much better evil doll films out there.

A hopeful young starlet uncovers the ominous origins of the Hollywood elite and enters into a deadly agreement in exchange for fame and fortune - from imdb.
Watched the 2014 horror - starry eyes last night and i think this is one film i can definitely see not being to everyone's taste and what I'd say is if you don't do strange then i would seriously look elsewhere as this gets pretty weird and way out there at times especially towards the end.
I myself thought it was not to bad overall and it sort of reminded me of a David cronenberg/Dario argento mix up,it has this dream like atmosphere to it and there's this recurring tune that plays throughout which sounds a bit like a children's lull a bye and it seriously got stuck in my head.
The last 20 minutes or so are something of an eye opener as well after what is a pretty restrained and mostly bloodless first hour it then becomes a bit of an all out bloodbath and features one of The most outrageously gory on screen murders I've seen in a long time.
Not bad but definitely approach with caution! 7/10

I agree saw 6 is a step up on those,I love Elvira mistress of the dark it's one I need to pick up on DVD,children of the corn I have the blu ray which I really enjoy but have never seen as far as I can remember any of the sequels.

I think both you and Helen would probably like it johnny as I know your both big fans of cronenberg and it's that same sort of weirdness that dominates most of his flicks.
I'm actually just done watching this Stephen king film adaption -
2004's - riding the bullet directed by Mick garris and starring the likes of Barbara Hershey,cliff robertson and David arquette I enjoyed this one quite a bit,I thought it was pretty decent.
Never read kings novel on which is based so I don't how it plays out compared to the book but I was quite impressed,it is pretty trippy and a bit all over the place but yeah it is good fun and judging by the scores over on imdb slightly underappreciated i'd say.
This is actually the second time that i have watched this and i'd probably rate about a 7.5/10 and yeah I'd say it's well worth checking out for Stephen king and horror fans alike!

Plot summary - A writer suffering from agoraphobia rents an isolated house so she can concentrate on her writing. She doesn't know that the house is a former brothel, and is inhabited by the ghosts of dead prostitutes- from imdb.
- The nesting a haunted house horror starring robin groves (silver bullet) and in a small role horror veteran John carradine,quite enjoyed this one and used to have it on vhs,it does have its faults for starters it feels slightly overlong but that aside it's pretty good.
The octagonal house that is used really looks the part and there is a couple of stand out grisly kills,robin groves plays her lead role very well and her scream is enough to blow the windows out.
All this and a good creepy atmosphere makes this a none to bad early 80s haunted house horror. 7/10.
One last thing this looks pretty darn good on blue underground's us region free blu ray release.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre II - I appreciate what they were trying to do with this one and it is a lot of fun once she falls into their home. But it just doesn't entirely work for me and always takes a bit to get into it. 6/10
The Lost Continent (1968) - I am like a little kid Christmas morning watching a Hammer for the first time. This was an odd one. Slow start but then descended into the madness of pirates, killer seaweed, giant crab like and tentacled things, a weird cult lol. 7/10
Children Of The Corn III: Urban Harvest - This one, especially that ending, wow, is indeed nutso Atomik. And a big step up from part 2. 6/10

Not really a fan of The Lost Continent, but to be honest, I haven't seen it since I was about 13 or 14. It's probably worth another look like Moon Zero Two, which I positively hated as a kid, but I saw it again recently, and it was kind of fun in a campy way.

watched the very entertaining 2014 horror - girl house about a college student kylie who to help pay her tuition fees joins a online porn chat site known as girls house (basically like a porno version of the big brother house with cameras in each room) which is based at a luxurious hidden mansion.
trouble is she catches the eye of a warped killer who also happens to be a computer nut who one day sends kylie his picture while chatting and which one of kylies room mates then prints out and pins up on the wall where they then write on it ridiculing his appearance.
on the killers next online chat he zooms in on his picture hanging on the wall seeing that the girls have poked fun at him and he decides it's time to teach them a lesson!
this was a bit of a blast,it was filled to the brim with brutal kills and non stop nudity and based around a really fun plot,the killer was a bit of a bad *** that wore what looked like a blow up doll face mask (i kid you not) and looked really freaky at times.

Fatal Games aka Olympic Nightmare (1984) was a pretty decent slasher flick. Much like Graduation Day (1981) but not quite as good. Few surprises here plotwise and of course the weapon our killer uses is not often seen in horror flicks. Cool Shuki Levy penned theme tune, lots of nudity, crazy steroid injecting doctor and Lynn Banashek was quite cute as Annie. Not bad.

Watched the 2014 horror musical - stage fright starring meat loaf aday,allie mcdonald and in a very small role minie driver,really enjoyed this campy horror musical,the songs were fun,the kills were gory and the cast were great.
Loved the way they mixed heavy metal with opera and this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like musicals though that being said they do seem to keep the musical numbers down to a bare minimum and I would say it's not like something along the lines of Sweeney Todd where it seemed to be one song after another!

Wishmaster - This was a pretty interesting cool flick. And I got way too excited at Reggie Bannister's cameo. 7/10
Piranha (2010) - I felt dumber after watching this. Dreadful. 2/10
Elvira's Haunted Hills - This is ok. But unlike Mistress a lot of the gags here felt incredibly forced. 6/10
Saw VII: The Final Chapter - A fantastic ending, woo. Didn't see that coming. 6/10
Casper (1995) - I've put this off all of these years because I love the old cartoon. But it was just adoreable. I cried. 8/10

Watched the really ace empire pictures horror western - ghost town from 1988 starring franc luz (the nest) and Catherine hickland which features a terrific music score by Richard band which is the same as he used in the great 1984 toxic zombie horror - mutant starring wings Hauser.
Really enjoyed this one and whole heartedly recommend it to any fans of empire pictures or to horror fans in general.
Looks fab on the new blu ray as well from scream factory!

Watched the 1988 horror sequel - sleepaway camp 2 - unhappy campers starring Pamela Springsteen and renee estevez - a really fun entry in the sleepaway camp series this which differs a lot from the 1983 cult classic original - for starters things have gotten a whole lot sillier this time around with this second part in this popular horror franchise feeling like it's mostly being played out for laughs,that's not to say that none of the horror aspect of it works as a few of the murders are delightfully gory and there's the odd one that actually feels quite mean spirited - the two pot head sisters being burnt alive being just the one example.
Pamela Springsteen is terrific here as the deranged camp counselor angela and went on to reprise her role in the following years - sleepaway camp 3 - teenage wasteland (1989) and what i'd say about the film is that as long as you don't take it too seriously then i think the chances are you'll probably have a total blast with it as it moves along at a cracking pace and features a sky high body count,ample nudity and plenty of laughs!

Not watched the film this Halloween season yet but just picked up the awesome soundtrack on CD for under 4 UK pounds which I'm pretty pleased with.
I know it's had a German blu ray release but elsewhere in the world this title seems to be quite neglected,here in the UK we have to make do with a no frills full screen DVD and I think stateside it's the same which is a pity really as I think it's a really fun film!
Love Trick or Treat and also have the soundtrack cd.
The Sleepaway Camp films are good ones. I don´t remember if we´ve discussed this before but the girl on the cover looks a lot like Saundra Santiago.

Helen, the Something Weird Video label released tons of these safety / educational vids, mostly from the 60's / early 70's.
They can be found as bonus features on nearly every dvd release they ever did.. and yes, they are hilarious indeed !
Sadly though, they stopped releasing dvd's after their distribution partnership with Image Entertainment came to an end.

Watched the 1990 action/horror sequel - maniac cop 2 which is again directed by william lustig and also has the late robert z'dar returning to his role as the monstrous maniac cop,both bruce campbell and laurene landon also briefly show up from the first film with things this time being handed over into the capable hands of Robert davi and Claudia christian.
Really enjoyable sequel to the 1988 original which ups the crazy stunt work and has some really superb action set pieces,i thought the supporting cast was pretty decent this time around as well with the likes of Michael Lerner,leo rossi,Charles napier and Clarence Williams who was so creepy as one of the blackmailers in John frankenheimers - 52 pick up.
Also keep an eye out for Danny trejo in the prison scene towards the end.
I really like the first 2 maniac cop films and I don't actually dislike part 3 either even though it's not up to the standards of the previous two entries I do know it did have a very troubled production http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104808/trivia so I think it can be slightly excused.
As much as I like part 2 I've got to say i still think the original is my favourite!
One thing I've not mentioned is this looks seriously good on blu ray (us blue underground region free release) and completely blows away any previous versions that I've seen and is definitely the way to go if your ever thinking off picking up maniac cop 2 on disc.

The House with Windows that Laugh (I've always preferred that title.) Pupi Avati! Have you seen Zeder a/k/a Voices from the Beyond a/k/a Revenge of the Dead? Avati can make a swaying tree branch or a gust of wind frightening. Every time I walk past a cemetery at night I think of THAT scene in Zeder. If I ever get the chance to program movies at a Con, there's going to be a Pupi Avati double feature starting at midnight, followed by Robot Monster. Just because! Aside: There was an on-line campaign by the Alamo Drafthouse Theater to get enough funds to remaster an obscure 70s film called The Astrologer from its only remaining print. If you contributed $500, you would get to program a double feature on Wednesday night at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas, and introduce the movies on stage. Sadly, I learned about the campaign too late so there was no Pupi Avati night.

Watched Waxwork (1988) which was a small disappointment. The cast is great but the dialog and how the characters behave leaves a lot to be desired. Late 80s syndrome strikes again i guess. There´s few nice set pieces, especially the b/w Zach Galligan cemetery visit. Nice Night of the living Dead homage. I´m going to check out the sequel too but don´t expect much.
Another one i watched was Tobe Hooper´s 1977 hotel shocker Eaten Alive aka Death Trap aka Hotel Horror aka Starlight Slaughter I liked this one. It has wacky characters, unique feel (shot entirely on soundstage), madness and pure despair. The Arrow release includes interesting extra material.

Zeder comes very close to masterpiece status !
It starts out as some sort of detective story.. gets increasingly creepy as it goes along.. and builds to a truly haunting, heart-shattering finale that stays with you long after the movie has ended.
Contrary to what the American re-title may suggest, just don't expect a zombie movie. It's something completely different.

Been ages since I've watched waxworks 2 - lost In time so i cant give you a proper oppininion on it atomik but I did really like the 1988 original and thought it was a lot of fun.
I'll have to look out for part 2 to give it another go but I do think I also vaguely remember it being a bit disappointing when compared to the first.
Eaten alive I too also really like and think that it's definitely underrated amongst tobe Hopper's films,a bit like funhouse I don't think that gets given the credit it deserves!

Eaten Alive is such a favorite of mine, simply because Neville Brand is brilliant as old Judd. For every minute that he is on screen, you don't see any acting. You feel like you are in the presence of a true lunatic. He's wonderful with such great dialogue like, "Croc'll eat a horse. Croc'll eat you too!" I also like the hilariously weepy country and western music that he plays in the motel. ("And I can't go back to Houston...cuz I killed an innocent man.") It's a movie that exists in its own bizarro universe.
Also glad to see another Zeder fan out there! It's a stunning film--so creepy--and, Johnny, you are right: That ending--like the ending of The House with Windows that Laugh--will just stick with you forever.

Yeah it is a great film crash,have you seen - the funhouse and what's your take on that,first time I ever watched it I didn't really warm to it but since watching it a few times since I've grown to really like it.
Tobe Hopper's another one who's career seemed to totally peter out in the late 80s,though I don't dislike some of his latter efforts - the mangler,the toolbox murders etc i'd say he's done more than his fair share of stinkers of late!

I have a soft spot for The Funhouse. It's really pretty good, and William Finley, who was always excellent, never got the credit he deserved in his lifetime. Hooper is such a maddening talent. Out of the box, he makes one for the ages, and then post-80s, it's been one mess after another. His two Masters of Horror episodes were the worst of that series, and I haven't seen hide nor hair of his genie film. A real shame. Either he really had talent and lost it or lightening struck with The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, never to be repeated.

Watched Waxwork II: Lost in Time (1992) which once again had some good scenes but overall was pretty average stuff. Few interesting "guests" in this one though: Bruce Campbell, David Carradine, Drew Barrymore... It feels like Hickox was only a fanboy with all these movie etc. references and mishmashed them all together.
Another one i watched was the very good carnival shocker The Funhouse (1981). It starts slowly which was a good thing because you care about the character when the killing begins. Elizabeth Berridge was phenomenal in the leading role and i also liked Kevin Conway very much. All in all, another entertaining Tobe Hooper film.

Watched 1981s - the last horror film aka the fanatic starring the late great Joe spinell and the beautiful Caroline munro,really fun horror flick this with no shortage of gore or nudity and which is also actually quite funny in parts as well so it never becomes quite as dark or grim as spinell's and Munro's earlier horror outing the 1980 cult horror classic - maniac.
joe spinell, what an actor I don't think i've ever seen anyone quite portray sleazy like he does,here as well as in the likes of maniac,walking the edge,vigilante in fact I think more or less everything that I've ever watched him in,it all just seems so effortless to him,so i'm thinking he was either like that in real life or it's probably more to the fact that he was just one hell of a great actor!
And Caroline Munro what a beautiful actress she is,i've only ever seen her in maniac and the fun 1986 horror - slaughter high before but i think she's another one who's probably always great to watch,I did spot her in a UK horror convention video on YouTube that i watched sometime back in which she came across as a really pleasant and down to earth actress who looked like she thouroughly enjoyed Mingling in with the many horror fans that had come to meet her!
The setting of the - last horror film is also pretty unique as it is more or less entirely filmed at the Cannes film festival so you do get to see many movie posters and stands from the time (1981) for the likes of - for your eyes only,chariots of fire,the cannibal holocaust etc
The only downside to the whole movie for me was that i thought that some of the supporting cast weren't up to much and that there performances were bit lacking but that aside I can't actually think of anything else that i really disliked about the film and therefore i would not hesitate in giving it a fairly strong recommendation to all the horror fans out there,infact I feel it's pretty underatted in all truth!
The all regions blu ray from 88 films i thought was really good and they had gone to the extra effort of reinserting the odd frame of deleted gore back into the print and while this footage was of generally bad condition i still think it was pretty great because at least you was getting to watch the whole uncut version of the film this time around.
Well worth the watch 8/10.

The victim was pretty good actually helen,it's one of these films that seems to pick up some pretty negative reviews but I gotta say I thought it was good trashy fun also.
I thought you'd probably like funhouse atomik,it's quite a decent early 80s horror and like Helen mentioned the night time carnival setting is really cool!

Very entertaining horror thriller from director Joel Schumacher with a very solid cast featuring Henry cavill,michael fassbender,Dominic Purcell and Emma booth this 2009 horror movie sadly went fairly unnoticed stateside where it had a very limited theatrical release and fared even worse over here in the uk where it ended up just going straight to home video.
But don't let any of this put you off though as I thought it to be a really decent and atmospheric horror outing from a director who when on form really knows how to deliver the goods - the lost boys,flatliners,St Elmo's fire etc. - And while this doesn't quite compare to those earlier hits it's certainly way to good just to be pushed out quietly on to the home video market.
Very well shot and with a real feeling of menace about it that I think is mostly due in part to Michael Fassbender's sinister looking Nazi zombie the film certainly pulls no punches when it comes to the onscreen gore and brutality,it actually gets fairly gruesome in parts and animal lovers beware as pigs,dogs,horses etc. all get caught up in the bloody carnage!
My one and only dislike about this film for me was a couple of instances of pretty bad looking CGI,most notably in the horse attack scene but that alone did not ruin for me what is otherwise a really well made and fairly unknown modern (2009) horror flick!

Children Of The Corn VIII: Genesis - They seemed to forget the children part of this one It had decent atmosphere but was a bit dull until the final great 10 minutes. 5/10
At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul - Such an outrageous, weird, messed up film dripping with atmosphere and menace. Some parts always take me aback thinking about what year it is from. Ooh, the pure evil of the Coffin Joe character and that wretched laugh!! 10/10
Blacula - So much more than a silly title. 8/10

7/10 - a whole lot better than i expected given some of the early reviews,nic cage gives a more restrained performance than usual,he's actually pretty good here,plus there's a couple of cool little jump scares along the way,set on halloween night over consecutive years this would make for a pretty good halloween night's viewing!
also watched sam raimi's excellent 1990 fantasy darkman starring liam neeson and frances mcdormand,had not seen this since it's original release and really enjoyed it! 8/10.

Yeah I gotta say thinking about it I think I actually prefer it when he goes completely bonkers o.t.t like in vampire's kiss and the bad lieutenant.
I know he gets quite a bit of stick but I actually don't dislike nicolas cage,I think my favourite performance from him is in Alan Parker's - birdy and probably my least fave was - Peggy sue got married,God he was annoying in that!

Corpse Bride - 10/10
This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse - A good sequel to At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul. Although the repetitive rants in the first half could be a bit irritating. The Hell scene was totally weird and wonderful. And you gotta love his courage test! 7/10
Scream Blacula Scream - Not as good as the first but still good fun. I want one of those Blacula voodoo dolls! 7/10

Watched the daft but very enjoyable 1990 horror - the guardian from director William friedkin (the exorcist) starring the beautiful jenny seagrove and Carey lowell,fun 90s horror with a large dose of gore and nudity plus a cool music score - https://youtu.be/MCOIAuz43nU by jack hues.
Psycho (1960) - On the big screen with live orchestra. Wow!! - 10/10
Embodiment Of Evil - I liked this more than I did first time around. It's not a patch on the first 2 films (At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul, This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse) and some parts are a bit too vile for vile sake. But otherwise it is quite a fun end to the trilogy with Coffin Joe still as nutty as ever! 6/10

A fun,sleazy entry in the long running Friday the 13th series that ups the bodycount but lowers the suspense from previous instalments.
The kills this time around are pretty bloodless affairs as the MPAA were really starting to come down hard on the series by this time!
Not very highly regarded by Friday fans I think this gets a bit of a undeserved bad rap as while it's not amongst the best in the series it's still leaps and bounds better than - Jason takes Manhattan(8),Jason goes to hell(9) and Jason x(10).
I'd rate it a solid 7/10,I think it's a pretty entertaining 90 minutes or so!
One last thing for anyone interested this looks pretty good on blu ray,colors are more distinct and there's a lot more clarity in the many outdoor daytime/night time scenes.
The sound is 5.1 DTS HD surround but it may as well kept to the original mono track as there was very little going on in my rear speakers,still sounded good though!
Well I never quite managed a horror film a day but I still managed a fair few,actually I'll keep going on this thread till bonfire night then it will make up for some of the days I missed.

Offerings - An awful, unashamed rip off of Halloween and other slashers around the time. Right down to a Supermarket's own brand Halloween theme. But gosh it is bloody good fun with it. 5/10

Last night I watched the daft but fun Christmas horror comedy -Santa's slay which i didn't realise was filmed as far back as 2005,for some reason I thought it was a lot newer than what it is,I've got a gut feeling it took quite a few years after its original release to actually reach these shores!
Starring ex American wrestler bill Goldberg as a musclebound killer santa and featuring cameos from the likes of James caan,Robert culp and rebecca gayheart this as you'd imagine is all incredibilly silly stuff (one look at the trailer https://youtu.be/W0nDG91hVu0 will tell you that)but if watched in the right frame of mind it's also a lot of fun!
Not for everyone as some will find it a bit to silly but I think in general most people will probably get a laugh out of it!
