Oh boy, i watched this "film" last night.
They say that it´s written and directed by Nicholas Beardsley, whoever he might be.

What you get is 50% Hotel Paradise (1980), 40% Escape from Hell (1980) and 10% new material.
Some dude actually has also composed a new synth score.

In the beginning you can see Daly (Linda Blair) entering a skyscraper lobby
and shooting the security guard (Penn & Teller´s Penn Jillette in his first film) right between the eyes.
We find out that she is going to revenge "The Emerald King" Luker (Leon "Frightmare" Askin)
for what she has suffered in the emerald mine prison camp.

So, Blair´s character starts to tell the story and during the next 70 minutes
we can see sequences from both Hotel Paradise and Escape from Hell with few narration lines from Blair.
Of course Blair wasn´t in those movies so the next time we see her
is during the last 5 mins while she gives Luker the ultimate payback.

I don´t know who came up with this outstanding idea but i have to give him/her some credit.
Shoot couple of new scenes with hot in the mid 80s actress Linda Blair,
buy the rights of the two relatively unknown euro-exploitation films,
put a sexy Linda Blair pic on the cover and that´s it! You are now a filmmaker

It´s a horrible copy-paste "movie" no one needs to see
but if you are a die-hard Linda Blair fan boy like i am, of course you need to have it

the u.k entertainment in video vhs/beta release had more or less identical artwork to the force video release up the top there,that and the swedish release art make it look like a must see flick.

they say never judge a book by it's cover,i had read somewhere before this was a bit of stinker.

thanks for the warning atomik ,i think i'll stay well clear of this one even though i'm a fan of most of blair's movies.

This is a dreadful, dreadful movie that I've actually seen but had forgotten until now. A couple of added bits of trivia: The musical score is actually made up of Richard Band's really good synth themes from another Charles Band production, "Trancers." Also, "Savage Island" features the unforgettable Ajita Wilson, the transgendered star of the low-rent Euro-trash films of Jess Franco and Joe D'Amato.

So there you have it: two movies badly spliced together with some new stuff featuring cult fave Linda Blair, a recycled soundtrack, and a legendary Euro-trash star. They really don't make them like they used to.

Ah yes..Savage Island. Infamous grindhouse paste up movie. I saw it back in the day. It is pretty terrible but I had to see every B movie with even a few minutes of Linda Blair in it! =)

Ok, thanks for the info Crash! I´m gonna check out Trancers and Trancers II next.

I know that Ajita Wilson is quite a legend in her own game but i didn´t know that she made a sex change, live and learn.
They released some of her films here back in the 80s but Hotel Paradise was the first one i´ve seen.



I also own Hell Penitentiary (1984) on dvd.

I'm a completist too and have seen so many of these garbagey WIP (women-in-prison) films. (I guess I don't have a life. ) I just saw Jess Franco's "Women in Cell Block 9," one that I'd read a lot about how disgusting/depressing/horrid it is. It's truly appalling (and I'm not easily appalled)--and still banned in the UK from what I understand. I will go with the good old Corman Caged Heat as the best of this sordid genre.

Trancers has a pretty big cult following, and I must say, I like it too. It's an incredibly cheap--even for Charles Band--mash-up of The Terminator and Blade Runner. But it has quite a few really good things going for it: former stand-up comedian turned cheapo action star Tim Thomerson is a lot of fun as a seedy hardboiled cop; as I mentioned, the Richard Band synth score is quite good; you get to see a very young Helen Hunt in an early role; the film flies by like a sci-fi programmer of old at 76 minutes; and the screenplay has a lot of heart. The rest of the Trancers series (I think they did six in all) I can live without.

Never seen any Jesus Franco films. They released his 99 Women (1969) here on dvd few months ago.
They say that it´s one of the first of it´s kind.

Gotta love this original Escape from Hell poster art.
