Coming this march on a double-disc set from Shout! Factory !
Cheezy 80's action flicks may very well be the highest form of cinematic entertainment !

How you doing johnny hope you're keeping well,I already own eye of the tiger and cyclone but would love to get my hands on exterminator 2,never come across alienator before, well not that I'm aware of,looks interesting.
I read shout factory have struck a deal with mgm so we might see the likes of Albert pyun's dangerously close, the young warriors, hunter's blood etc.getting released at some point.
I know they've got Cohen & tate down for release,I'll be up for that, great movie.

I thought that it might make you feel better knowing Exterminator part 2 is forthcoming.
Yeah, i've read it too that Shout! Factory now has the rights to a select bunch of titles previously owned by MGM. Eye Of The Tiger was indeed released on region 1 dvd by MGM in 2005, but is long out-of-print and sells for somewhere around 60 bucks on Amazon nowadays. Cyclone was released here in Holland on a bootleg dvd, which was just an old vhs version burnt on disc.
I know Shout! Factory is working on new editions of The Burning, The Fog and Tobe Hooper's Lifeforce, as well as X-Ray (aka Hospital Massacre), The Horror Show (aka House III), Schizoid, The Godsend, The Incredible Melting Man, and some rumours out there even claim they're working on Unholy Rollers (1972) !
We'll have to wait and see i guess.. but Shout! Factory is definitely doing some great work at the moment. Their february and march releases include TerrorVision / The Video Dead double-feature, Prison (collector's edition), The Nest, Joshua Tree, From Beyond (collector's edition), Futureworld, and Time Rider, The Adventure of Lyle Swann !
I say yay for Shout! Factory !!!

Johnny I wonder who currently owns the rights to 1985's certain fury starring Tatum O'Neil and Irene cara, now that would be cool if they were to release that, great trash classic that needs a DVD release.

The Movie Marathon release rocks! Although i already own Eye of the Tiger R1 dvd plus Cyclone and Exterminator 2 VHS tapes.
I would love to get all Albert Pyun films on dvd/blu-ray. I love Cohen and Tate too!
Few interesting titles coming, especially the new Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann dvd/blu-ray. The 2001 release was cut. Itīs a good movie, i have the uncut Finnish VHS tape.
I love Jackie Chanīs The Protector and own it on Finnish VHS tape. Thereīs a good chance that it will be released on dvd also in scandinavia this year. I donīt remember seeing Crime Story.
Certain Fury is in top 5 on my wanted list.

I totally agree : Certain Fury just NEEDS to be released on dvd and / or blu-ray !
The Shout! Factory website says Exterminator 2 will have an audio commentary with director Mark Buntzman and actor Mario Van Peebles !

What ever happened to Heather Thomas?
Posted by the young warrior (Member # 9554) on :
i read she gave up acting in 1998,i never realised she was reported to be addicted to cocaine when on the set of the fall guy, supposedly she kept blacking out between takes, lee majors contacted i'm not sure either her manager or her parents and they got her the necessary rehab and from the sounds of it she has never touched drugs since.

shout factory are releasing some really great titles,a lot of obscure stuff the other studio's won't go near, here's some titles i'd like to see them aquire the rights to -
the only one from this list i've never seen is down twisted but been wanting to watch for some time, all the other's are great movies in desperate need of a decent dvd release.

I have that crappy version of Savage Dawn released by Image Entertainment in 2007.
I still have a very cool poster of Hunter's Blood similar to this one :
How's that for a throwback to the heyday of video-rental shops ?!
Posted by the young warrior (Member # 9554) on :
cool poster you have there, really bad quality that savage dawn release johnny,i had it on a dvd 3 pack along with thunder and caged fury, all 3 films looked really shoddy, definitely not dvd quality.

johnny have you ever seen down twisted and if so is it actually any good?
Posted by Johnny Roarke is reckless (Member # 9826) on :
Just took a quick look on Youtube.. and to my own surprise i found the whole movie there !
I got to check out Eye of the Tiger Savage Dawn, and the Exterminator 2 just based on the posters alone. I love hand painted posters, its an art form that should make a comeback. I wanna go back to that.
I also really like the MEDIA logo at the bottom of Savage Dawn it reminds me of Heman and the Masters of the Universe's text.

Awesome news !
Eliminators turned up on the MGM Movie Channel here not too long ago. Great, cheezy fun ! Never seen the others, but i'm definitely going to get this new 2dvd set !
The Action-Packed Movie Marathon came in at the store last week, plus several of the other new Shout! Factory releases including Time Rider on blu-ray. Really looking forward to go and pick 'em up before the end of the month !
Posted by the young warrior (Member # 9554) on :
i'm definitely up for the sci-fi marathon as well, eliminators is a lot of fun and worth getting the set for that alone. i've not seen any of the other 3 but have heard of them all and this looks like a pretty cool set.
just need shout factory now to do a horror marathon with the still unreleased cellar dweller and ghost town on it.
i need to get the action packed movie marathon,i already own the out of print mgm region 1 eye of the tiger and also own a budget copy of cyclone but i'm still going to have to get it for the dvd of exterminitor 2,not sure what alienator's like.

Are you ****ing kidding me...America 3000 and Eliminators are pure gold. Have not seen the other two, but they look cool.
Posted by the young warrior (Member # 9554) on :
I've just read that the time guardian is the only one to be released in widescreen out of the 3,the others will be released in full frame only.
This would be a pity if this info is indeed correct as I would have liked to have seen eliminators in its correct wide screen ratio, never mind it's still well worth the purchase.
The reason behind this is meant to be mgm who are Supplying shout with the prints only own full frame masters for the other 3 films.
