i was sifting through some of my dvds on my shelf earlier when i came across birdy from 1984 ,it reminded me of how many great films brit director alan parker has churned out over the years,he has gone very quiet this last decade but he sure did make some corkers during the mid 70s and on through the 80s/90s.
my personal fave is his brilliant 1978 prison drama midnight express, what's yours?

Well I've only watched one of his films and that is "Mississippi Burning", which definitely ranks as one of Parker's best and delivered powerful performances from Gene Hackman, Willem Dafoe and Frances McDormand.

I have only been on this site for some months now, but for those who have read most of my messages and reactions here, it will come as no surprise that Angel Heart is my favorite of the Parker directed movies

Angel Heart is happiness on a stick!
I also like Midnight Express, Bugsy Malone, Mississippi Burning and Shoot The Moon.
My brother tells me I'd love The Wall cos it's really weird, charming

Warrior .. my vote goes for the stressknot of a movie titled "Midnight Express" as well.

Bugsy Malone. Every single time if I was offered a movie from that list, my answer would be Bugsy Malone.
