"Sometimes diamonds are not a girl's best friend."

Watched this crazy made in Turkey-France-UK movie yesterday.
Starring the legendary Robert Ginty, supersexy Belinda Mayne,
Fred Williamson, Jess Hahn, Mirella Banti and Gordon Mitchell.

"When Bo was a child, a mysterious stranger sadistically murdered his parents.
Only Bo and his sister, Ingrid survived the bloodshed.
Now, twenty years later... Bo and his sister are grown up.
They are now employees at a diamond mineshaft located in the desert.
As mischievous as they are, they stumble upon the discovery of a legendary diamond, the "White Fire."
However, this rapture for the diamond has provoked the angst of some short-tempered, not-so-nice villains.
The quest to capture the most sought-out diamond in the world is afoot..." (IMDb)

Yeah, that was the basic plot (sort of) but it only explains 30% of what´s happening in the flick.

See Flamethrower, chainsaw and band-saw kills (among the usual ones),
A huge diamond that everyone wants but nobody can touch,
Ginty wanting to do "it" with his sister [Eek!] and many more WTF moments.

Deep Purple man Jon Lord composed the score
but there´s basically only two tunes on the soundtrack.
I like the theme song "White Fire" performed by Limelight.

Limelight - White Fire

Sadly the Finnish VHS tape was trimmed but not too much so i could enjoy the craziness.

Handle with care - White Fire can damage your brain [Cool]

That CNR Video sleeve is the old Dutch rental tape !
Haven't seen that in a very long time.. (..the memories, the memories..) [Smile]

Unfortunately i have never seen the movie itself though. Its reputation makes it a much
sought-after collectors item !

I would like to own that CNR version because it would most probably be the uncut version.
I own some Dutch rental tapes and believe that they never censored anything there.

Am i right here Johnny?

aTomiK,

that's correct.. there never were any serious issues concerning censorship (in movies) here.
Many video's didn't even have an age-appropriate indication until the second half of the decade..
and even when those became common for rental-tapes, i believe they were all self-imposed by
its distributors.

CNR Video also released Class of 1984 and lots of raunchy comedies on tape here.
