Don't know if the movies were supposed to be set in the 80's.. Well, apparently not.. because Platoon, The Untouchables, Dead Poets Society and several sci-fi flicks are included.. That leaves me wondering why the Indiana Jones films, Blue Velvet and Full Metal Jacket aren't included.. and where the hell is After Hours ??

i think johnny it's just films made in the 80s! some great titles listed there,but i've noticed there's no films starting with the letter 'g' in the list,like john said i would have surely thought ghostbusters should be in there and i would also have thought gremlins also! never mind there's are still some great ones in there!

Obviously the movie-going residents of Tampa, FL. are a bunch of numpties.
This is simply a list of movies that some people have heard of. It clearly bears no resemblance to any actual knowledge of the movies themselves. Someone's just ran either a netflix random wishlist, or else an IMDB search for the decade, sorted it, and copied it there.
