Just watched this nice romantic drama made for ABC Circle Films. The cast was good including Robby Benson, Martha Longley, Ernie Hudson, Tawny Kitaen, Martin Mull and Charles Rocket (Fraternity Vacation and Earth Girls Are Easy)
Nathan (Benson) is auto mechanic living and freezing in the cold New Jersey. He has always dreamed about sunny California. He loves to watch the "California Dream Cosmetics" commercial and one day he tells his pal Ernie (Hudson) that now itīs time to leave. He meets this cool dude Barry (Rocket) and later meets and falls in love with the filthy rich dream girl (Longley) from the commercial. Itīs like a dream come true for Nathan but is everything really alright and should he choose the down to earth Jersey girl (Kitaen) instead?

"California Girls" by The Beach Boys is the theme tune (surprise ) and we can also hear another BB song "Wouldnīt It Be Nice" plus two Pointer Sisters tunes ("Jump" and "Neutron Dance")
