Just watched this nice feelgood movie set in 1972 Ohio. Directed by Chris Columbus (Adventures in Babysitting) and starring David Keith, Tuesday Weld, Charlie Schlatter and Angela Goethals. Last time a saw this was in the early 90s.

Johnny Wolfe (Schlatter) is a teenager who lives with a 9 year old sister Pam (Goethals) and his single, depressed mother Marie (Weld). The motherīs new boyfriend is a drunkard and soon she gets hurt in a car accident. Johnny has a great idea. Heīs going to kidnap Elvis Presley (Keith) with his bandmates (Johnny Wolfe and the Wolfpack) to cheer her up.
David Keith was so cool as Elvis. Always liked him. Tuesday Weld still very pretty, she also co-starred with the real Elvis in Wild in the Country (1961).
See Johnny and Elvis talking about Alice Cooper, 9-year old Pam with a Led Zeppelin t-shirt and Elvis with a lawnmover.

just watched this for the first time ever,really enjoyed it,i thought keith david was excellent as elvis,i too have always rated him highly from way back watching an officer and a gentleman and the lords of discipline plus also white of the eye.
great performances from charlie schlatter and also tuesday weld as schlatters mum who has a big crush on the king.
with a daft but fun plot and some great elvis tunes you can't help but like it, left me with a big smile on my face this one.

I bought this movie on dvd a couple of months back but haven't even opened it. Glad to hear it sounds like a pretty good movie. Hope to watch it soon.

i suppose that's one way of keeping your movies in good condition ronnie,by not actually opening them . i reckon you should probably enjoy it ronnie,it's a fun little flick.

White Of The Eye was released on dvd here in Holland with a good-looking anamorphic transfer. No extra's besides the trailer though.
