Van Damme had some great movies over the years and here is my top 5.

1. Bloodsport
2. Wrong bet a.k.a Lionheart a.k.a Full Contact *
3. Universal Soldier
4. Cyborg
5. No Retreat, No Surrender

* I am from Australia and have always known this film as Wrong Bet, which I think is fitting because he says it towards the end. I couldn't find it anywhere and bought it on Amazon from U.S.A as Lionheart. I got the DVD and when I watched it at the start where it shows the title of the film it says Full Contact. According to Wikipedia the movie was also known as Wrong Bet, A.W.O.L.: Absent without leave. When I used to watch it it was simply Wrong Bet. 4 different titles for one movie. Very Strange. I think the only thing I noticed different about the actual movie to what I remember seeing is that you actually see Francois on fire for a while running around. The times when I have seen Wrong Bet in the past you don't see this.

Breakin'. Michel Qissi is in it too. Great moving pic by the way.

- I am also finding it hard to believe that nobody has put down Wrong Bet or one of it's several other titles. But it is a stretch to make a top 5 Van Damme list.

Great thread...im a hardcore van damme fan. The first movie i saw him in was No R No S and remember sayin ..that guy is a bad ar5e...I watched Bloodsport like a thousand times and would watch moves in the movie Black Eagle in slow motion. I then went and learned everything about him before taking up shotokan karate like he did when he was 11yrs old. My wall up until aged 18 was covered in every picture and poster that was ever printed...all the smaller ones from martial arts movies too. Glad to see there are other fans of him on here. . as for the list . .

1. Bloodsport - Teach me, i can do it. You are NOT japanese, you are not a Tanaka. You taught me never to commit my self to one style, to keep an open mind. Why? To honor you Shidoshi...cue the montage - just awsome.

2. Kickboxer - Was never a huge fan of the last fight scene but loved the rest of it.

3. Wrong bet - Yes Bernie, im an aussie too and with ya on this one mate.

4. Cyborg

5. Black Eagle - awful movie but he looks at his most dangerous in this film.

Guess nobody else on here saw In Hell?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339135/

His best performance ever for acting and a well written movie. I love most of his other stuff as well.

Wa..hoo... A Wrong Bet fan. Great stuff. I never got into karate but used to do TKD and it is very similar to the karate they are doing in No R, No S.

The best compliment I ever got from a girl is that she said I look like Van Damme. I seriously don't but I did have a Van Damme cut at the time. I took the compliment anyway. I always did admire him more than any other martial artist though.

I actually just finished watching Breakin' also. Great movie. Unfortunately I can't put it in my Van Damme top 5.

Some more quotes from his movies Willy:

"Freddy Lee pay police not to interfere."

"What's the difference if Bruce Springsteen is his Shidoshi."

"What kind of a deal."

"I aint your pal d..ick face!"

"Cynthia, your one cold, sick b..itch."

Actually, part 2 (with the stoner cuz from Step By Step) wasn't that that bad. Parts 3 and 4 on the other hand..... [Embarrassed]

Sasha Mitchell is no Van D! But I thought part 2 was kinda enjoyable. Though the actual action was not that great!

We live in dread aTomik!

And as for the Lorenzo-JC 'best buds on holiday' photo? Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all...well, almost nothing...all right: its mad gay.

1) JCVD

The movie is quite good, but JC put in a brilliant and subtle performance I remember how taken aback the entire audience was at this scene, not a dry eye in the house!

JCVD monologue

2) Kickboxer
3) Bloodsport
4) Universal Soldier
5) Hard Target

Hilarious pic and videos, friggin' awesome Bernie I cant stop laughing. Is that a Spiderman speed-o in Jay Lees pic?
#1 Bloodsport by a long ways. No retreat No Surrender was good, cant think of any others. Sorry

Though I'm from Belgium, just like Jean-Claude, I'm not a fan of his movies.
I guess Hard Target was his best one. Bloodsport is okay in a very cheesy way, and Kickboxer (though watchable) is an extremely poorly made film.

I'm actually struggling to name a list for any Van Damme movies I could endure.

OK - maybe Timecop, but only because Mia Sara was in it....
