Ever have some mad love for a movie that no one else seems to really appreciate? Wondering about movies that my fellow Rewinders love, but alas, other Rewinders seem to snub it, or not hold it in high regard.
All in good fun of course, but, maybe list a few movies that you absolutely love...but get that eerie sense that you are alone in loving it. Poking fun at someones favs is certainly encouraged...acknowledging that you are amoung friends, who, for the most part, have a great sense of humor. OK....here's mine:
Author Author w' Al Pacino.
On The Right Track w' Gary Coleman
Flashdance
Without A Trace
These are movies I've seen dozens of times each in my childhood, and will watch them a dozen more. I mention them semi-often, but don't usually get many "bites" when I test the waters...I always sense snickering, eye rolling, and Rewinders politely not saying anything cause they have nothing nice to say about them. OK....let me have it.......

Hardbodies
Private School
Breakin' 2
Quarterback Princess

Kev: I love Author Author. I think it is great. I have not seen it in a long time. I will need to get a copy of it soon though. Been meaning to watch this again for years.
Kev: I am only saying this cos you said let me have it. I think that Flashdance sucks, but I can't comment on the rest because I have not seen them. I am intrigued about watching Without a Trace though. Hopefully I can find it on Amazon.
Valley: Private School was one of those movies I saw on late night TV as a kid and for years could never figure out what it was called and then I think I stumbled upon it here and got a copy but I could not sit through the whole thing. It was not as good as I remembered it, although some parts were better like the horse riding scene. I have not seen the rest of the movies you have mentioned.
My list embarassing as it is:
Milo and Otis
Ah that's all I can think of it the moment but something is telling me that just for that one movie I am up for a serious character assassination.

For me, it would have to be "Flashdance"--I know that it's cheesy and declasse to like this one (sorry, Bernie), but let me just point out what makes it cool beans: (1) Great 80s music; (2) Great tech credits and cinematography (Folks forget that Donald Peterman got an Oscar nomination.); (3) Sights and sounds of Pittsburgh, one of the world's greatest, most photogenic cities; and (4) Jennifer Beals. (That alone carries it for me.)
"Neighbors"--Much unloved, but I think that it is quite funny, and I especially love the "anti-casting" of Belushi as the straight man and Aykroyd as a nut. And darn, Cathy Moriarty didn't do enough movies!
"Buddy Buddy"--Widely considered one of the great Billy Wilder's weakest films, again, this one always puts a smile on my face--Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon!--despite the threadbare production. It's the small Wilder touches: Just listen to Lemmon's hysterical speech about "Senor Cajones" or watch Matthau assemble and disassemble that rifle repeatedly, and I dare you not to laugh. And anything with Klaus Kinski in it can't be bad!
"Where the Buffalo Roam"--For reasons that I can't fathom, this got terrible reviews, but I think that it's really funny and has an early great performance from Bill Murray. Compared to Terry Gilliam and Johnny Depp's riff on Hunter S. Thompson, which takes itself way too seriously, this thing is like a breath of fresh air. "Sir, what about the doomed?"
"Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers"--Yes, it's stupid. Yes, it's trash. But it's very entertaining trash, perhaps Fred Olen Ray's best film. (I realize that's like saying that the catastrophe at Three Mile Island wasn't as bad as Chernobyl.) It zips along pretty quickly with funny quips here and there and and a bunch of pretty girls (always liked Dawn Wildsmith, who I believe was married to Ray for a while). What's not to like at 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning in 1989 with a bottle of whisky by your side and this running on Cinemax?

The scene with the cup is an amazing piece of cimema: "That can get ya snuffed out!"

Hold up... I thought Gilliam's adaptation was brilliant! It was a tough book to adapt, but they managed to stay almost completely faithful and capture the spirit. Apart from some speechifyin' (which was in the book) it was a terrific romp. Having said that... I also like 'Where the Buffalo Roam'.
