With all this oscar talk, wondering what your tops performances by a youngling are, say, age ten and under.
Some that come to mind for me are:
Phobe - the young sister in Monster Squad
Candace Cameron in Some Kind of Wonderful did a good job
Alex Selky in Without a Trace

These next two were over 10 years old in real life, but not sure about their characters.. plus they were so good they just need to be mentioned:
Seth Green - Can't Buy Me Love
Laura Jacoby - RAD

Drew Barrymore - Firestarter
Hands down Winner in my Book...
Though Heather O' Rourke, (Poltergiest), is a great choice too and a very close contender.

I agree that Drew Barrymore was outstanding in "Firestarter"..
How about this duo..
Macaulay Culkin and Gaby Hoffmann in "Uncle Buck"

these kids were awsomely cute in uncle buck

If we were choosing kid actors based off cuteness & adorableness alone..then I'd certainly change my pick and Culkin & Hoffman would definetly be a possibility to get my vote. Since we're not though, I still stand behind Barrymore in 'Firestarter.' Though Culkin does certainly get a nod of approval for the classic speed question scene in Uncle Buck. That scene still cracks me up.

It's a long story. (couldn't resist; it's worth noting for that scene, Candy had the promptor mounted on his back to allow Mac to keep up the scene's frantic pace) And yes, he and Gaby get my votes as well.
