Hi, this is a bit vague but it's all I remember and would really like to find the title of this film.

It's the end scene I remember:

I think it's set in a small town maybe 50's or 60's era in America. A boy probably about 15 or 16 is leaving town and has one last dance with a girl he's fallen in love with (it could be the girl leaving). This scene takes place in a diner where one of them works, they put a song on the jukebox and slow dance together and I think the diner is empty except for them 2. I can't recall if one of them leaves after this or if the credit role.

I know it's pretty vague but thanks for any help. I'm pretty sure it was 80's movie.

That sounds exactly like the scene in "Heaven Help Us" when Michael (played by Andrew McCarthy) slow dances with Dani (played by Mary Stuart Masterson)in a semi-deserted diner to "I've Been Loving You" by Otis Redding. The movie was set in 1965 in Brooklyn, New York.

Could the movie you seek be "Heaven Help Us"?

Warrior.. I like your thinking on this one!

btw, whenever I don't know something.. I think I mentioned it, but I usually post "Heaven Help Us".. gonna be cool if that is actually the answer this time.

Check out this clip of Heaven Help Us on youtube, it contains the jukebox dance scene. Fast forward to 5:12 in the clip.

That's the one, thanks very much. It is though called Catholic Boys over here on DVD.

Also how young does Andrew McCarthy look there, I can't believe he made St Elmos Fire the same year???

Yay! I'm glad I could help. I really need to watch this movie again soon too - it's been a long time since I've seen it.

As for Andrew McCarthy's age, he has such a baby face doesn't he? Ralph Macchio was the same way - I remember being shocked when I found out that he was 25 when he filmed "the Outsiders".
