The story follows a young gangster of Italian descent named Johnny, who has been given control over his own neighborhood by the Mob. The film is set in Alphabet City, a part of the East Village in New York City. (Wikipedia)
I loved this very stylish street flick directed by Amos Poe (he directed the music video for Animotion´s Obsession)
And yes, this movie is like a 85 minute music video with cool scenes and fantastic music. Starring Vincent Spano, Michael Winslow, Kate Vernon and Jami Gertz.
Spano is ultracool and i loved the Pontiac Trans Am he drove. Winslow is a funny drug dealer with his trademark sound effects. Vernon and Gertz look great but Gertz should´ve had a bigger role.
Nile Rodgers (Chic, Sister Sledge, Madonna) composed the awesome soundtrack. I really need the soundtrack album, check out The Lady Luck scene and you´ll know why.
The dvd is still available and it´s very cheap! Highly recommended!
BTW, check out the IMDb page because Amos Poe has posted some interesting comments.

Ooh, I just watched and loved this It sure did feel like one long music video. Having overdosed on Rumble Fish the last couple of years it was most amusing to see 'Steve' like this haha
Thanks for the recommendation. Glad I got it
