I just found out that today is Rewinder Cindy Mancini's birthday.. so as to not 'forget' her birthday like Samantha Baker's parents.. I figured a thread was needed. Of course, Cindy has informed me that she has a dance she is required to attend tonight and she is getting graded on it for gym class. So instead of a "Sixteen Candles" birthday thread.. let's wish Cindy a 'Happy Birthday' with this horror classic:
"Happy Birthday To Me" is an often neglected and seldom mentioned 80's horror gem. The plot involves cliques, prep schools, and a very special birthday party ending..
Melissa Sue Anderson (of Little House on the Prairie fame) bravely handles a leading role that is wickedly unclear about whether she is a victim or a killer. There is also screen legend Glenn Ford who gives a fine performance as her doctor. Another unforgettable personality in the movie is Sharon Acker. Seen only in flashbacks, but she takes the role of the overbearing mother to incredible heights.
And for those who love gory horror flicks... "Happy Birthday To Me" does not disappoint. The film skillfully manages to be both bloody and quite original. In fact, the scariest scene is not a murder, but when Melissa Sue's character has brain surgery... vivid images that stick with you.
Wait.. there are 6 bizarre murders promised on that movie poster above.. with the infamous shish kebab scene being one that you will never forget.
I'm not quite done.. "Happy Birthday To Me" offers a complex story with a brilliant twist ending. I remember loving the twist upon first viewing. And let's not forget about the awesomely haunting end credits tune!
In Summary.. "Happy Birthday to Me" delivers on almost all levels in my opinion.. well, except for that recent DVD cover update:

Happy Birthday Cindy!
I watch this movie every year on or around my birthday. It's just a fun scary movie with some inventive death scenes and an ubelievable ending! This is fun to watch with other early 80's horror movies like "He Knows You're Alone."

I've always been more creeped out by the bridge scenes!

You try to giving a girl something a little different for her birthday and it always ends up being Jake Ryan that she wanted... ha
Happy Birthday Cindy... make a wish!
Back to "Happy Birthday To Me".. it is not a movie I watch that often, but I still give it credit for being rather original. Oh and I won't be wearing any scarfs in the near future either.

Is Ronald Miller invited to you're party Cindy?
I am not sure if he will come though because you know he's late and inconsiderate.
